Seriously. He's not even TAHT great, no, he's horrible. He seems nice, but sorry he;s atrocioius. I don;t see his appeal. MALakar ish is last name and MAL in Spanish means BAD, and thats perfect for him. MalaKaR KRAP. I crazy way of speelign it I know but yeah,soryr fans he;s niot that great, Last night he made Scott Savol look like god.

I would have to disagree with you, Jack, completely. Sanjaya is different from past Idols. I may be biased because I am going to be rooting for the Indian contestant no matter what, but I think what he's doing for Indian people is great. He's opening doors for us brown folk, and it's a pretty big deal in the Indian community. So we are going to support him, no matter what. I agree, his performance last night fell flat, but I think it's only because he is shy and kind of lost right now in the competition. He is the youngest guy after all, so he doesn't have as much experience as the others. I believe he deserves another chance, and if he sings more "youthful" songs, maybe he can redeem himself. I think the songs he chose were just all wrong for the competition, that's all.
But as for his fanbase, I can tell you, a lot of them are people like me: brown folk who are damn proud that we have someone who is opening doors for Indians in the entertainment industry. It's something cultural, I guess. It just makes me so proud to see he made it this far. It's not everyday you see something like that happening to us, so it's kind of like a milestone. This is going to sound like baloney, but I think people are rooting for him because he represents their dreams in a way.

Now I know he isn't going to win...he isn't even my favorite guy, but I do think he deserves another chance, and I don't think he deserves all the smack people have been saying about him.

I don't understand his appeal either. I thought he was lousy at his initial audition and he gave the worst performances out of both genders these past two weeks. He has no personality either. He's just plain creepy, weird, and bad. There were so many better guys who should have been in the Top 24.

I am disgusted that AJ, one of the best guys of the group, is going home while that atrocity known as Sanjaya gets to move on to torture us for another week. The judges defilitely looked very upset too.

I totally agree!! It is definitely the worst season as far as talent goes. Last season was definitely the best. I don't even look forward to watching it this season......

When I watched AI lastnight, I was fuming that AJ was axed and Sanjaya was saved. His singing is not even appealing, IMO, he sings like a girl. If he's not gone next week, there's something wrong, he should have been bounced lastnight, period!!! JMHO!

I think he has a good voice, it's just his performance skills that need work. He doesn't really perform the song and he sings too low. I think it has a lot to do with being shy--he seems very shy.

I disagree with a lot of you and I think this season is really great. I'm not going to let a couple of no-talents ruin it for me. I'm just concerned with the lack of musical diversity with this season. Seems like mostly everyone's a diva.
