View Full Version : Jodie Foster
Which Jodie Foster Movie do you like best?
I really liked her in Silence of the Lambs, but there are several others I also
like.
When she was a kid, I loved Freaky Friday. As an adult, Anna and the King and Maverick.
I thought she looked great at the Oscars last night. I wonder if she's ever gonna show up publically with her girlfriend though. *shrug*

The First Movie I Ever Saw Her In Was "the Accused". She Gave Such An Amazing, Powerful Performance That She Was Instantly One Of My Favorite Actresses.
Although I Haven't Seen All Of Her Movies (i Personally Don't Attend Those Rated R Anymore), Anything I Have Seen Her In I've Loved.
Anna And The King And Flightplan Are Ones I Especially Enjoy And Have Seen More Than Once.
Oh, Yea. And The Movie "contact". It's On Now, And I Also Watched That Quite A Few Times. Not That I Believe In Et's, But Great Perfformance. Especially From The Point They're About To Show And Onward (when She's Sitting Out Listening For Signals, And Finally Gets One) Awesome Acting Epsecially In The Second Half Of The Movie. From One Jodi To Another Jodie-you Rock:D

Silence of The Lambs is definitely my favorite but I enjoy her in anything she does. I've never seen her give a weak performance. The first time I saw her was in The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane. She definitely stood apart from all the other kid actors of that time.

No she starred with Kelly McGillis in this one. She played a woman who was gang raped in a public bar and she took her attackers and onlookers who cheered them on to court. It's based on a true story. She won her first oscar for this movie. You should check it out Mike. It's a great movie.

Same here. Jodie was amazing in it, but I also thought Kelly was great as well. She got really overshadowed.

DO YOU KNOW THAT KELLY HERSELF WAS RAPED? ALL I CAN RECALL FROM HEARING ABOUT IT YEARS AGO, WAS I THINK, THAT SHE WAS RAPED IN HER OWN APARTMENT BY ONE OR TWO MEN.
I WOULD THINK THIS MOVIE WOULD HAVE BEEN HARD FOR HER TO DO, AS I'M SURE SHE RELIVED EVERYTHING ALL THE MORE SO. THEN AGAIN, PERHAS IT WAS HELPING HER TO HEAL IN SOME SMALL WAY.
FOR ME, THIS MOVIE IS AMONG THOSE THAT I ONLY NEED TO SEE ONCE. ESPECIALLY KNOWING IT WAS A TRUE STORY. I FELT THE SAME WAY IN WATCHING JESSICAL LANGE (ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAV'S TOO!) IN THE MOVIE "FRANCES". IT WAS A TRUE STORY BASED ON FRANCES FARMER'S LIFE. AND WHAT A LIFE IT WAS. I COULD BARELY WATCH THE SCENE WHERE THE MEN COME INTO THE MENTAL FACILITY AND RAPE HER AND OTHER PATIENTS. MADE ME SICK TO MY STOMACH, AS DID THE SCENE WITH JODIE FOSTER. THESE WOMEN MAKE IT SO REAL, IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.
THE SAD TRUTH IN IT ALL, IS THAT RAPE IS VERY REAL, AND IT SHOULD BE DISTURBING TO US ALL. APPARENTLY IT ISN'T DISTURBING ENUF THOUGH, BECUZ IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN EVEN IN THE FAMILY CIRCLE, YET NOTHING REMOTELY GETS DONE ABOUT IT. THIS JUSTICE SYSTEM MAKES ME WANT TO puke:
OK. I'M DONE AGAIN WITH MY RANT. I'M JUST PMS'ING. BUT I MEAN EVERY WORD:mad:

Yeah, I had read about that before. It probably gave her a lot of strength to do the courtroom scene in particular. And yeah, the rape scene is pretty hard to watch. Still an excellent film.
She was pretty good in "Panic Room" too. I wonder when she'll come out with
a new movie?
She was also in one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen, Hotel New Hampshire with Rob Lowe & Nastassija Kinski. That movie was STRANGE. There was incest and gang rape and all sorts of stuff going on. Interesting movie, but definately weird.

On the red carpet they introduced Jennifer Lopez to Jodie Foster, J-Ho went on to tell her she (Jodie) was her fave actress...Jodie told Jennifer, "They call me J-FO."

I don't know. It's to bad she doesn't act as much as she used to.
