Jennifer Lopez is the latest star to sign on to appear on hit reality competition American Idol.

The “Waiting for Tonight” singer is following in the footsteps of Prince and Mary J. Blige and will appear on the sixth season of the show on April 11.

According to Star magazine, Marc Anthony could also be joining his wife on the show.

A source explains, "It was Jennifer and Marc who approached American Idol, not the other way around."

Other high-powered celebrity guests this season include Diana Ross, Tony Bennett and Gwen Stefani.

J.Lo has no business judging someone elses singing, neither should Gwen Stefani.

Neither of them are judging, they're guest performers.

Another reason for me to hate American Idol.

Sounds like Marc (aka Skeletor) is behind this so he can promote that stupid movie of his that will flop anyways.

I'd still rather listen to Diana sing than J-Ho or Gwen.

Why did they invite her?? It's not like she can sing...or act, or whatever!!:D

If she wasn't pretty and didn't have a great ass, she'd be...asking if "would you like fries with that??"

I was wrong, they're guest coaches. Sorry all you people who don't like them.

Tony Bennett, Jon Bon Jovi, Barry Gibb, and Martina McBride are also going to be appearing on the show. :D

Jennifer Lopez...guest coach??? I'm sorry, I liked her in Selena (thank goodness that those were the real Selena's vocals) but...I think that's where her career peaked.

That's the only positive thing I can say abt her...that movie. Other than that, she gives true singers a bad name. Anyone can sound "great" with all that technology in the music studio.

Why can't we just wait till that week comes? If all the singers suck, then the guest coach did a bad job. Fair enough? :p

And ironically, she doesn't sound all that great even with the studio enhancement. Very bland. In fact, I liken her vocally to...Paula Abdul.

If you think Gwen Stefani has no business being there you should probably go check out one of the Tragic Kindgom/Return Of Saturn era performances. Gwens been in the industury for over 15 years, she has more business being there than simon and paula put together.
