When I was in elementary school, every year we'd have a talent show. One year, I think it was '88 or '89, our principal, Mr. Clark, was the MC. He was a very tall, dignified man with salt and pepper hair. This particular day he was dressed in a sequined jacket, a fedora, shades, and a white glove. He was lip synching to "Man in the Mirror". Obviously, this was way before the scandals started, otherwise doing this in an elementary school would raise some hackles. To this day, I can't hear that song without thinking of that moment...and I always have to smile. :)
