Is MPI planning on Volume 2? It's been a while since the first Color DVD set came out (around last summer).
Thanks

Yes, it was last June when set 1 came out, it's anybody's guess when #2 will be released. You could try emailing them, but don't hold your breath waiting for a reply, they are not known for speedy responses.

My guess is they are evaluating the success of the first release before doing a second one.

I guess it comes down to how much money MPI made on volume 1. :(

It also depends on whether they get off their stubborn, lazy a$$es.

They've screwed up the previous VHS releases by mislabeling some shows and putting out the same shows twice and labeling them as different shows. This mistake has been pointed out to them many times. If they don't correct it in future DVd releases, then you have to conclude that they really don't give a rat's a$$ what people think, so long as they believe you'll shell out more money on a subpar set, which is no better than their previous releases.

I sure hope that MPI decides this time to put out the best DVD release possible. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Does anyone know why they didn't put the *black & white* trips to Spain & Italy (sorry I don't know the actual names of the episodes) on The Lost Episode Collections? Were they still "lost" at the time? Or did they do that just to annoy me? ;)
I'm just glad they added "Love Letter" that has to be one of the best :D.

I remember there being rumors a while back that these episodes no longer existed, but then they just popped up out of nowhere one day. My guess is that MPI just didn't have these episodes in their possession at the time.

I'd assume you're talking about the remake of "Love Letter"? The original version, which was found in 2004, has yet to be released by MPI. That episode is actually the reason MPI started talking about re-releasing the Lost Episodes. How about that? 3 years and still no updates.

Uh that would break my heart! I'm glad they were found again. Now to get MPI to let me see them .

Yeah the one that came with the Lost Episodes Collection. I didn't know that was a remake. I'm surprised at how many times they did remakes. Three years!...how pathetic.

Well they did mention the original versions when they released the color remakes, so that could be a good thing depending on how you look at it.

Yeah, well I guess they didn't expect them to ever be seen again, sneaky Jackie! I can't believe how many times they did "Six Months To Live," the original was in 1952, then they did "A Matter of Life & Death," then they remade it again in 1957 and once again in color in the 1960's.

That's the key. There were no reruns, online streaming, encores on other CBS owned cable channels, or home video back in the day. I wonder if they were counting on viewers not remembering the earlier show or if Gleason had thrown out a subpar script and a remake was the only way to go? Maybe the show was overbudget and this was a cost-saving measure.

You bring up a very good point. I've often wondered the same thing. :)
