Laverne and Shirley also had two jail episodes (three if you count the latter one as a two-parter). The bottlecappers were jailed for stealing from a department store in an early season (Franklin's?), and in the last season Laverne (without Shirley; this was after Cindy Williams left) was jailed for robbing a bank and put on death row.

When ELLEN first started and was titled THESE FRIENDS OF MINE, I think their was an episode where she was put in jail.
In a flashback episode of THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, Rob wound up in jail.

Didn't Carol Foster-Lambert on Step By Step get jailed for trying to steal some jewelry she thought was too expensive? Somebody (likely an undercover policeman) got her to try on some bracelets, er, handcuffs.

I think a very similar plotline happened in Laverne and Shirley.

Darrin on Bewitched also got arrested in "A Very Informal Dress" from Season 2. Aunt Clara had conjured up a suit for him to wear to a business dinner. True to Aunt Clara's nature, the suit vanished and poor Darrin was outside running from the cops in his boxers! He ended up spending the night in jail, poor guy...:lol:

On the first season ep., Steve and Elyse ended up having to spend Thanksgiving in jail for protesting against nuclear weapons or something like that.

Barney Miller - there were so many moments as to who ended up in jail. (Including their own memebers):

* - Dietrich was arrested in the 2-part ep. "Dietrich's Arrest," for his off-duty participation at an anti-nuclear rally.

* - Barney himself was even arrested in the 2-part ep. "Contempt" for refusing to name an informant for the reason why a man was disapproved ffor service at a resturant for his appearance.

Night Court:

* - Harry and Dan each get arrested (respectively). Harry was arrested when he questioned his replacement judge's motives and Dan was arrested for peeving the same judge that jailed Harry.

* - Billie was arrested by Harry for refusing to reveal the whereabouts of a cat her client is accused of kidnapping.

* - Christine is arrested by this new female judge (who really falls for Harry) for mouthing off about perceived mistreatment of a client.

Dwayne/Ron was arrested for an altercation involving three white guys from a rival college, two of whom branded Ron's car by spray painting some racist word or something like that on Ron's car.

Gimme a Break!:

* - Nell goes to jail for pulling the phone outlet after getting aggravated with her phone company, who referred to her as Mrs. Fong.

* - The entire Kanisky family gets arrested along with a mob of other people for the protest against the demolition of a historic Spanish site.

On ELR, Debra went to the slammer after getting drunk at Amy's bachlorette party (she was only sleeping in the driver's seat but the cops thought she's been driving when she wasn't). It was hilarious how Ray & Deb tried to keep Marie from finding out, to no avail. :lol:

On FOL, Jo shoplifts an expensive sweater for Mrs. G's birthday gift. When it turns out to be the wrong size, Mrs. G returns it to get a different size. Instead she gets arrested. Of course everything turns out OK, but Jo was really walking on thin ice at this point in the series.

I also seem to remember on Coach, Christine (Coach Hayden's wife) was jailed when, at a party, the police showed up and she, in her drunkenness, took a policeman's pistol and fired it in the air. I can't remember anything else about the episode, but at the end Hayden yelled at her, "I TOLD YOU SO!!!" repeatedly.

The First Ep's Of The Second Season Of "the Facts Of Life" Was Entitled, "the New Girl". Jo, Blair, Natalie And Tootie Ended Up In Jail Because They Were Minors In A Bar, As Well As Hot Wiring The School Van.

Then, Because Of Another "hot" Item, A Hawaiian Shirt, Mrs. Garrett Received For HER Birthday, She Ended Up In Jail, When She Tried To Return It. Unbeknownst To Her, Jo, Nat And Tootie Shoplifted It. Although Again, Jo Was The Ringleader In That, Too.

Although Wasn't Technically Arrested, JO Was Put In Jail A Second Time. In The Ep "down And Out In Malibu". She Was Just Mugged And Had Nowhere To Spend The Night. So She Was Able To Talk Her Way Into Spending The Night In Jail So She'd Have A Place To Lay Her Head.

it was after Amys bridal shower. At the shower; she got into an argument with Marie; and had a little to much champane. When she got in her car to drive home, she realized it, and called Ray to come pick her up; but he wasn't home, so she left a message. While she was waiting for him to call back, she took a little nap. Then a cop saw her, asked if she was OK, and when she told him what happened he arrested her, because there was a law that said as long as you have alcohol on your breath, that's enough to convict you, or something like that.

Yep, they were arrested when Eddie's cousin visited and stole a corvette or something like that and coreced Eddie to hang out with him and some ladies and Carl had to pick up Eddie from the station.

On the show Frasier, Frasier talks Roz into joining him to protest the closing of a bookstore. And when the police come to break up the protesters, Roz gets arrested and Frasier doesn't.

No surprise that Don Knotts plays the arresting officer. So, they spend Christmas in jail while their greedy kids open all the presents before realizing their parents aren't there; Rich and JT take a trip to Mexico with stowaway Dana and end up in jail.

Full House -- In a reunion of their frat (I think that's what it is), Danny and Joey try to steal back their mascot from a sorority. One of the sister's is a cop and puts them in jail.
