HOLLYWOOD - Sylvester Stallone has promised Rocky Balboa will be the last installment in the long-running film franchise, insisting, "We're done!"
The 60-year-old actor wanted to make one last Rocky film to safeguard the series' legacy, but he insists the story of underdog boxer Rocky Balboa is now complete.

Discussing the possibility of a seventh Rocky film, he says, "No! Definitely not! When he says, 'Yo Adrian, we did it!' he means, we're done. We lived the life. I'm a big believer that, in life, we can't succeed in everything.

"Most times, we lose. But the few times we do win, we have to make sure they were the important battles. Lose the little ones along the way, sure, but make sure you win the ones that relate to love and relationships and major personal passions.

"I just want Rocky to be remembered--for the legacy he leaves behind, for running up the steps and the music. People really do run up those steps, you know--for inspiration."

Rocky originally was suppose to die at the end of Rocky V but didn't and now we're suppose to believe Sly without anything in writing that he won't return with Rocky Balbao II: Let's Do It Again, Adrian.

This final Rocky was actually pretty good. If they did a seventh film, they should kill off the character at the end.

I doubt he will ever do another Rocky film. He complained about all the rigorous training he had to endure at the age of 60.

Wise move. I thought Rocky Balboa was a masterpiece. Since the underlying premise of the film was closure, it is only fitting that the Rocky saga should be ended here, and on a good note at that.

I already knew it's going to be the last one; there was an interview with him on a local station when he was filming it (he filmed it in Philly, where I live) and he said that. And I read an article in the paper about it after it opened, and he said it there too. He said ROCKY V was going to be the last; but he wasn't satisfied with the way that turned out.

The original story for the current one had Adrian alive (she's dead in this one) and Rocky's managing a gym that Mickey left to him; but it's not doing very good and is in danger of going belly up. So Rocky starts going around to banks and stuff to try and get money for it; but he can't. So, he reluctently decides to go back in the ring one last time.
