Does anyone know if it's possible to find out what were the original
commercials that played during each of the "Classic 39" episodes when they aired for the first time on tv in the 50's. I would appreciate any information that you could share with me on this topic. Thanks! :)

Oh what a great question! That would be great to see. On the Frank Sinatra show I have (with none other than Jackie Gleason) they included all the commercials -Mainly for Bulova Watches- & it was nice to see.
Hope someone knows a little about this!

Wow! So it does exist out there in tv land, at least with the Frank Sinatra Show, that the original commercials that aired are known. This gives me hope that someone will come forward and help us Honeymooners fans out. Thanks for posting your comment!

There are several episodes of The Honeymooners available on the "collectors market" that contain the original commercials, and some of these even include the original opening with the bus driving down Madison Ave, NOT the "man in the moon" opening.

It's easy to locate shows with the original commercials from the early days of TV. Since kinescopes were recordings of live shows, any commercials are usually included on the shows. That doesn't mean every single one has them, but the majority that I have seen include them. And I believe that almost all 180 episodes of I Love Lucy and all 13 of the Lucy-Desi Hours are available on the collectors market with the commercials and original animated openings.

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad to hear that it's possible to get some of the Honeymooners episodes with the original commercials included. If you know of any "collector's market" sources would you be willing to post that information on this message board? Or if you prefer, you can send me a pm. I would appreciate any help with this issue. Thanks again! :)
