With the TCA tour comnig up...TV Land should be announcing what shows are coming this year, or maybe some of them. What are your picks, besides M*A*S*H? What do you think they will acquire? This will be interesting to look back on after everything's announced.

My picks:

Gilligan's Island
The Beverly Hillbillies

Maybe another western, perhaps The Big Valley?

Next week. TV Land goes on Thursday I think. I guess this will be the first year TV Land and Nick@Nite aren't announced together.

If GI came back I don't think it would be on TV Land. I think it has a good chance on I since Warner Brotheres releases it.

With That Girl airing for a short bit maybe they will try Doris Day at one point. That hasn't been syndicated in years.

Buffyboy323, Hillbillies/Gilligan aired on TV Land before, but many shows on the line-up today have left and come back at some point (Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, Green Acres, All in the Family (well it was just shifted between N@N and TV Land), Flip Wilson, and The A-Team. Both shows did well during their previous runs I think, so that's in their favor.

Petticoat Junction aired on TV Land Canada recently. Not sure if it is there or not still so maybe it has a chance. I know they are different networks, but maybe if it does well there they will try it in the states.

Don't go by WikiPedia. That is false...that TV Land page is edited frequently and wrong information is posted. Those shows have been posted as 'coming to TV Land' numerous times and TheLink has confirmed many times that the information is incorrect.

I'd like to see Mr. Ed.

IMO, they need to stop running all day narathons of GunSmoke and Bonanza and start showing "new" shows.

Oh, and to all Flip Wison fans, according to my TV menu (I have a Cable box) they'll show Flip Wilson tomorrow. It's early in morning, tho. I'll diffently watch because Andy Griffith is supposed to be on.

Don't give up hope, just yet. TVLAND is slowly moving towards 80s shows (The Cosby Show, Cheers, Night Court, 227, And even Wings). I think we might have a chance of Diffrent Strokes coming to the Network. And possibly The Facts Of Life, and Gimme A Break. (All 3 of these shows had some serious moments at times, and would fit nice with All In The Family, Good Times, What's Happeneing?, etc)

Those shows were all failures, I'd be surprised if they acquire any more shows similar to those. Just a thought.

Which shows??? All In The Family was N@Ns highest rated shows, and it did well on TVLand as well....And Good Times has been a huge part of TVLands success in the last 2 years. 227, Wings, and What's Happening didn't do too good though.

A lot of the 80s shows they tried, like 227, Benson, Wings, Family Ties, Hunter, Highway to Heaven, What's Happening (not really 70s), Night Court, Murphy Brown, Knight Rider/Simon and Simon, and seems like Cosby didn't do all that hot. Maybe some of these did well for a short while (many didn't), but never had a decent amount of time that they were successful.

TV Land has always had its most success with 70s shows (Three's Company, Sanford & Son, Good Times, All in the Family, so many more). With the 60s at 2nd...primarily because of Andy.

What's Happening!! did well for them when it launched (it did last over 6 months at 11 pm)...and it is pure 70s. The others you mentioned, most didn't air in a primetime slot, but the ones that did, didn't do so hot (Benson, Night Court, Murphy Brown).

LOL. Go look at the Wikipedia site. Listing so many shows as "returning" when we all know that's not the case at all. I would love half of them REALLY come back, but come on ... lol.

Hilarious.

Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Beaver, Green Acres, The Munsters, and Lucy are some other 50s/60s shows that have done well for a good while, in addition to TAGS. The main focus should be 50s-70s (well only 50s I'd have would be Lucy, Beaver, and The Honeymooners). Seems like the only 80s sitcom that was a borderline success for a while was Cheers, but it's slipped too...I guess you can expect that of any show though. I don't see them adding any more 1980s sitcoms, at least for now.

Does anybody remember when TV Land added Roc back in '01? How long did that actually last anyway? That has to have the record as being the newest show at the time it started airing on the network.

I remember "Roc" on TVLand. It was already there by the time I got it, but it was gone after a few weeks. I'm not sure how long it was on, but it couldn't have been any more than a year. I remember N@N aired it in either 2000 or 2001 when they did a really cool Black History Month Fridays one February. They showed "Julia" during that block a few times.

I'm not even going to be sneaky or hinty this time. I WANT A SOAP! I WANT A SOAP! My shots are probably better with "i" but I'm taking anything I can get at this point.

Roc aired on TV Land back in 2001, I think in the summer? around 1am and later in the year at 10:30am or something like that; I remember thinking that it was about to go downhill then, but there were a few good years left.
