I would be interested to know what everyone's preference is for the best time and way to watch the Honeymooners. Do you enjoy it more watching it on tv with commercials or on dvd straight through without any interruptions. Also, do you prefer to watch during the day or is night-time the best for you? I personally enjoy watching the Honeymooners on tv at night. For me having the commercials included make the transition from night-time to daytime scenes more realistic.

I mosrtly like it at night. Sometimes i watch it during the day while working. he he As far as commercials, hate hate hate hate em . If I had the original old ones, that might be different. I don't even like havin to change the dvd's so often on the lost episodes. That's probably why I watch the 39 most often.

I prefer watching them at night on DVD uninterrupted. I will not watch them on our local station here because they are time-compressed (sped-up) in order to show them unedited. Some will say it's not noticeable to the eye and ear, but it most certainly is with this show. It throws the timing and rhythm off a great deal. On New Year's Eve they ran a marathon and even with the sound down at one point I could detect it. But, given a choice of watching them THAT way as opposed to edited and shown at proper speed, I'd opt for the former.

I usually watch 1 or 2 in the morning as I'm getting ready to start working & then of course at night. I always watch them before bed.
I can't stand commericals so of course I watch them on DVD. Besides there's no TV Stations here that play them . Also I like being able to rewind or speed through some parts that I don't really care for..usually if it's an Alice & Trixie scene I fast forward (not always though) until it gets back to the boys :).

You bring up a good point. I think it would be awesome to watch the Honeymooners with the original commercials that played during each of the "Classic 39" episodes when they aired for the first time.

I could just picture how funny it is when you have to explain to your boss that the reason your late for work is because of Ralph and Norton.
You're a regular riot!

How could ya? Women aren't bosses. Men are bosses Alice. MEN! It's men that have made this world what it is today! MEN! I'll give you a perfect example. There'd be n America if it wasn't for Christopher Columbus.

Sorry, couldn't resist that one, he he. It's lines like that, that make my wife not to crazy about The Honeymooners, especially when I say it to her, he he Of course I'm only joking, but boy she really gets steamed!

Sounds like my dad...and my guy lol! Luckily for them I'm not the feminist type so I find it funny & I just give it right back :D.
BTW, There'd be no Christopher Columbus if it wasn't for his mother :p!

Your welcome! After reading your post I felt like I was sitting in front of a fireplace wrapped in a blanket just relaxing and drinking some hot cocoa
while watching the Honeymooners. My guess is that you're probably a very good storyteller. :D

I worked at a nursery school for a year so I'd say I'm a pretty good storyteller lol- 2 year olds are tough to please!
I always light a vanilla candle while watching The Honeymooners...everyone in the house knows when they smell that vanilla not to bother me. No spa for this chick just some good ole R&N (Ralph & Norton).

Hmm I'd say we need to start a post on "How To Maximize Your Honeymooners Watching Experience." hehe

Wow! I'm the same way when I watch movies. I like aromatherapy and essential oils and I find that it certainly does enhance the viewing experience.
