BERLIN: A thirsty German sold his 6-year-old step-daughter's pet beagle to the owner of a bar to pay for beer, the Bild newspaper has reported.
The unemployed man offered to take the dog for a walk and then stopped at a bar where he convinced the owner to buy the 3-year-old dog for 40 euros (about $50 US).
The man spent the proceeds quenching his thirst for beer. The bar owner has now returned the dog to its owner.

At first glance, I thought the title said sold his daughter! Now that is an alcoholic!
Simpsons episode - 'Lisa the Geek'
Homer: Buffalo is going to win. Lisa hates me. [sobs]
Man: Whatcha got riding on this game?
Homer: My daughter.
Man: [whistles] What a gambler!
I'm glad the girl got her dog back, at least the bar owner was a man about it not like her A-hole stepfather. ohno:

When I first heard it on the radio that is what I thought too, I imagine he was in "the dog house" with the wife after that one

I don't think even Homer Simpson would go that low for a beer.
