I have been reading Art Carney's, biography which is very interesting. I read that, Art was on another TV show before Jackie Gleanson, called the Morey Amsterdam Show. This show was defintly before my time. Have anybody ever seen this show before? Was this show funny? Was Art funny on this show?

Yes. That' s where Art got his start. It was about 1948. He was Morey's sidekick. There are kinescopes of a few episodes that can be found.

I've never heard it but I'd like to! I'm sure he was great. I'd like to hear "Land of the Lost" where he played Red Lantern, a red fish who helps 2 children retrieve lost toys from the ocean floor. I would imagine these recordings have to be some where out there.
Have you gotten to the part where they talk about Art's impression of Roosevelt on "Report to the Nation?" They had to ask him to stop because people thought it was actually the President . I know when Roosevelt became to ill to do his "Fire Side Chats" Art did it for him...that's something I would like to hear.

The Morey Amsterdam Show ran from December 17, 1948 to October 12, 1950. It started on CBS radio before heading to TV. The show moved to the Dumont Network in April of '49 where it would stay for the remainder of its run. I can't comment on what the show was like since I hadn't quite made my entrance into the world yet.
