The pups were born today!

Okay I posted a post in the Feel Good Department but I still have a lot more to type on the subject and I don't want to put it all in the FGD lol. So, I posted a little while ago that my mom's boss's dog went into labor this morning at 2am. He called my mother a little while ago, to bring a thermometer, because it appeared that Baby (the dog) was sleeping through the labor lol. So my mom gets there with the thermometer, and Baby is on his bed, ready to push the puppies out. So my mom had to go finish up work which would take a few minutes, then she was going to go back and help with the birth. She's going to call me as soon as they're born, because I was pretty upset she wasn't coming to get me lol. So she promsied she'd call and I could see them in a few days. There's 4 puppies, possibly more. They saw a 5th head but it could've been a puppy that wasn't fully formed or it was a puppy hiding lol. So we're not sure, hopefully there are more, cause we might get one! :) I know, we have a lot of animals, but we love 'em and they love us hehe. This is so exciting so I'll keep you updated.:wave:

The puppies were born! Baby gave birth to the first pup, a little girl (temporarily named Noelle) at 4:15pm this afternoon. Then the second one came, a boy, but was still in the sac. Baby wouldn't bite the sac off so my mom had to do it. The puppy wasn't breathing. My mom turned the pup upside down and swayed it back and forth. After 5 minutes, the puppy started to breathe and wince. He's the smallest and his name is Nicky. Then about an hour and 15 minutes later, the third puppy was born, another boy. Then quickly after, two more boys were born. The last pup entered the world at 6:45pm. A total of five, four boys and one girl. We're hoping we get to take Nicky, the sick one. He really attached to my mother. Mother and pups are doing well tonight! :)

Thanks everyone. I will try to have pics soon. Probably won't be for a few weeks since Baby won't let the pups out of her sight. :lol: Everyone was afraid with her being so young, she'd ignore the puppies but as soon as they came, her maternal instincts kicked in. :)

Baby is a shih tzu and she was bred with another pure bred shih tzu. :)
