HOLLYWOOD - Sylvester Stallone regrets signing up to make a sixth Rocky movie, and wishes he had listened to his wife's protests when he was initially offered the role.
Jennifer Flavin burst into tears when the 60-year-old revealed he would be reprising his role as boxing champ Rocky Balboa, because she was worried about the strain a rigorous training routine would have on him.
And Stallone admits she may have been right. He says, "She was absolutely right. I mean, she was just defending her husband from what actually was a totally crazy idea, but now she likes it."
Stallone was convinced to take the role because the last film was such a disappointment. He adds, "I know Rocky V disappointed a lot of people. I felt the same way about it and that was gnawing away at me every time people said to me they liked the first four but...
"When the option of Rocky VI came up I thought the time was right to do another one, just to make sure it was finished properly. That's just what life is like."

So what is he saying, he regrets it but then it states that "but now she likes it". She changed her mind and he changed his mind?

I thought Rocky 5 was great. Aside from the first Rocky, I thought it was the best one. Definitely the most realistic of all the Rocky films!! Part 2, and 4 were crap though!!

Little Mel you're crazy for saying Rocky IV sucked. That's the best Rocky movie. Rocky V didn't suck to me. I liked it. I saw previews for Rocky VI and it looks alright. I'll check it out when it comes to video.

We've had this disagreement in the past, and even though I respect your view, I still stand by my feelings that the fourth Rocky sucked!! I thought it had it's good moments, but overall it was just too damn corny, and unrealistic. The worst part was Rocky's ridiculous speech at the end of the movie, about two Nations coming together or whatever. That had to have been one of the goofiest scenes in movie history. As bad as I thought part 4 was though, I still don't think it was nearly as bad as part 2. That one was like a poorly written, two hour long soap opera!!

This film may have been a bad move for Stallone physically, but critically, it looks like it was a great move. So far it's gotten great reviews, including two thumbs way up from Richard Roeper, and Aisha Tyler. They said that this is a fitting tribute and end to the Rocky film series. I haven't been this excited about a film in almost 3 years!!

Little Mel isn't Aisha Tyler a black actress? She's a movie critic with Roeper? I'm gonna see Rocky VI this weekend. I hope this is the last Rocky flick. Sylvester is too old to be doing Rocky flicks. I heard he was gonna do another Rambo also. I hope that doesn't happen because the last Rambo sucked.

Yep Aisha Tyler is black. She's that really hot lady that use to do Talk Soup on the E! network, and played one of those goofy Friends' guys boyfriend's in Friends. Roger Ebert's been out sick for months now, and she's one of the regulars who has filled in for him. She also reviewed Apocalypto, and gave it a big thumbs up. She's actually a really good critic. If they ever need a replacement, I think she'd be a perfect host.
Btw, speaking of Roger Ebert, does anyone know what's wrong with him? Him being the worlds most famous critic and all, I'm surprised there isn't more publicity regarding his illness.

Aisha is hot. She was in Kanye West, Twista, Jamie Foxx's video Slow Jams. I also saw her in a movie called Never Die Alone with rapper DMX. Didn't she play on another tv show besides Friends?

Last I heard abt Ebert, he was in the hospital very ill. I haven't heard anything since. I think the last time he was in the news was abt 8 months ago.
My feelings abt the Rocky movies are as follows:
ROCKY: AWESOME, GREAT, TERRIFIC, BEST MOVIE OF THAT YEAR
ROCKY 2: GREAT, I LIKED IT.
ROCKY 3: JUST FANTASTIC...SAW IT IN THE THEATRE, THE AUDIENCE WAS LOUD, CHEERING, AND IT WAS VERY SAD WHEN MICKEY DIED, I WAS BALLING!
ROCKY 4: THE ONLY PART I LIKED WAS WHEN JAMES BROWN PERFORMED.
ROCKY 5: HATED IT

Roger Ebert has cancer and has been battling it for months now. His old partner Gene Siskel died of cancer himself.

I saw Rocky 4 in the theatre when I was 6 years old. I lost it when Apollo got killed by the big Russian dude. That traumatized me for life. At 6 years old, I thought Apollo was real, and that he really got killed right before my eyes. I'll never forget the loud sound of the punches across his face. So sad!! :(
Thanks for the info on Roger Ebert Brian. That is very sad news. I hope he gets better.
