View Full Version : Interviews with the Honeymooners cast...
The Great One

I remember seeing an old episode of 60 Minutes where Jackie Gleason was being interviewed by Morley Safer. I thought it revealed the caring and sensitive side of Gleason. Especially the part where he talks about his father
just deciding one day to get up and leave his family and never to return.
Anyways, it was a very touching interview but I was wondering if anyone knows if there were any in-depth interviews done with Audrey Meadows,
Joyce Randolph, and Art Carney. I would appreciate any info you could share with me on this. Thanks!

I saw a recent interview with Joyce Randolph where she talked about how she got the part of Trixie and what it was like behind the scenes, but nothing too deep. I don't think any of the other cast members did an interview like Jackie's, but I could be mistaken. I'd be pretty interested in seeing something like that myself though.

Audrey Meadows did a long sitdown with Bob Costas in the 90s when he had his late night show on NBC. As I remember, he was a diehard Honeymooners fan, peppering his questions with dialogue from the episodes. I think it ran in two parts.
If you go to google.com, click on "video" and then search for "Joyce Randolph," you'll find a long four part interview from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Joyce Randolph discusses her background and involvement with the Jackie Gleason Show. It's probably the most comprehensive Joyce Randolph interview I've seen. Enjoy! (I hope you have broadband!)

Yes, that's the interview I was talking about. I don't think I saw all four parts though.
