Greetings, programs! :) All you Tron fans out there will get that one. New to the site but not new to the playing field so feel free to let me have it…I promise not to run away crying. :crying: In truth, my main reason for visiting ya’ll is in the hope that someone out there knows how to find any episodes of the CBS Sit Com – “Mr. Merlin” - October 7th, 1981 –to- March 22nd, 1982. As a 13yr old I would claim the TV for 30 minutes a week just to watch Barnard Hughes do his stuff. I loved the show and now that he is gone (he passed away July of this year) I would love to share this 80’s gem with my 10yr old son. To my knowledge CBS has never released the show on DVD. I had made contact with a girl in the UK who claimed to have 17 of the 22 episodes which made up the first and only season but alas my computer crashed and after reformatting I found that my Outlook Explorer had been reset and my ISP could not recover my lost mail. :( I would give anything to be able to introduce this show to my boy…I know he’d love it as much as I did.
With all the violence in today’s TV, Movies and Video Games, it would be nice to show him something from a less tattered age when we were still amused by good-old-fashioned prate falls and one liners. I miss the simplicity of that era; today the most popular show in the world (CSI) is a weekly display of the evil that men do. I think we as parents have a responsibility to our children to show them that it wasn’t always so.
I’m going to bed before I pull out the soap box. The last board I joined was for the same reason, looking for Max, and I’ve had the time of my life ever since. The people are great and I even found my true love there. We’ve been together two months now and even though we live 300 miles apart we somehow make it work. True love knows no bounds. I hope to have as much fun here as well.
:thanks: ,
