I was to meet with someone yesterday, here at my home at 2 pm and the man didn't even bother to call me to cancel or whatever reason he had for not showing up. I had to cancel an appt. so I could meet with him and for what???? I left two messages on his cell phone and he doesn't call back. This is really f**king irritating to not even get a call back.
I don't know why people have cell phones if they are not going to return calls. What is the point of having a voice mail for?

I also hate when people do this. However, I can see both sides of the story.
1. I hate when people don't answer. If they're busy, fine. Once they're free later on, it would be nice to get a call from them. It would be polite and sincere. I'd understand. I wouldn't bite off your head if you don't immediately pick up, but do get back to me later.
2. I hate when people expect you to pick up and be at their beck and call. When I'm driivng, I won't pick up, but I do call back later on when I'm at my destination and/or home. Cellphones are supposed to be of convenience, not an electronic leash either. If I don't feel like talking at a certain moment, fine. I'll get back to you later. I'll wait for a convenient time or when I'm in a good mood.
So, I see it both ways.

With my bf, he never ever responds to me when i leave a message for him on his cell. So I don't even leave him a message when he doesn't answer i mean whats the point he never listens to them lol.
But yeah that does get annoying when people except you to talk to them all the time, there was this friend of mine who didn't have a life. Called me constantly everyday which i mean i work for a living, and am taking college courses so i don't always answer. And he'd always flip out about it. And i'd just say ya know what, i have a life GET OVER IT.

I can see both sides myself, however, this man with whom I was supposed to meet with is a city official with whom I am conducting business with regarding property I own. HE MADE THE APPOINTMENT, not me. He told me the day and time. Therefore, he had an obligation to call me back and let me know he wasn't coming. I had to rearrange my schedule for him. I ended up never receiving a call from him. I had to go to one of the city offices and when someone there called him, he answered his cell phone immediately and proceeded to tell that person that he had "an emergency" and wasn't able to return my calls or meet with me. BULLSH*T!!!!!! This is an example of when one should return phone calls.

Yeah, I see what you mean. In your case with this so-called professional, it was quite rude on his part. He's really showing off an "I don't care" behavior. Rude.
