Glad I got to visit Stardust in August when we went. Another Vegas icon gone.
The resorts they are making now are so awesome!!!!!

yes some of the resorts are very nice
BUT i hate to see them tear down these real gems of casinos from the past
the stardust, the original alladin, the dunes
all lost now
one day im sure the Frontier and Flamingo will be gone too
i miss the old days of the Mafia and all
it wasnt perfect, but it sure beats the Corporate Mindset in vegas now!

Aw, I remember the Stardust when my family and I would vacation to Las Vegas as a teen. That's too bad. It feels like it's nostalgic Vegas.

I know what you mean. My boyfriend has visited Vegas hundreds of times and he says what he sees hate being destroyed is "OLD VEGAS"...the times of the Rat Pack, Tom Jones, Elvis, etc.
I really enjoyed Fremont Square. It seemed to have that "old Vegas" feeling.
There is a place where they take all those old neon signs and other stuff from being destroyed. It's like a museum where you can see the signs up close, take pics, etc.

I have to agree. We took our 4 year old son and he had a blast. There is SO DAMN MUCH TO DO...especially for the kids...you think only gambling and other adult-oriented stuff...NOT TRUE. You have to visit to know. If you have never been, you are missing out!

I have some family that have moved over there. The houses are so damn cheap, compared to here where I live. Here a 4 bedroom house goes for around $450-550 thousand! The same house in Vegas is half the cost, plus you can get a house with a pool and still it would be cheaper than here.
When we go to Vegas, you meet some of the nicest people. People give us coupons for "free" this and that...some people would see our son and give us coupons for things they couldn't use like at Circus Circus.
Also, they treat you like royalty in Vegas. They know you are spending $$$. We complained abt one bitty thing and we were given four tickets to a show!!! The value of that was over $100! A friend of ours who just came back from Vegas, had his car keys accidently switched with the valet. They gave him a suite at THE VENETIAN HOTEL and a voucher for free dinner up to $100 on his next visit. Talk abt making the customer happy. ;)

My late grandfather used to work decades ago in casino management and his name is still known enough to some of the older execs who have been around, so sometimes i call up and touch base with folks and when i show up i get "extras" and preferencial treatment
so its extra nice!

That is awesome! Vegas knows how to treat their customers.
