We used to be able to put smileys in our signatures, however we cannot anymore. Why?

Ugh I e-mailed TJ like 38562939 years ago and asked him about pics but he said no. I guess that includes smilies?? Why can't we just put in tiny itsy-bisty pics in siggys?? Please please *on knees* PRETTY PLEASE?!?!

Can I take a stab at this....
1) Servers) Loading the images every time for everyone's sig would put a tremendous strain on TJ's servers, which would mean a dramatic slowdown. Not to mention the strain on whoever hosts the images....
2) Sig Length) It's already a pain in the ### trying to read messages in between mile long sigs (no offense). Images, even small ones, would add to that.
I'd say there's even more, but from what I gather, the above is the basic version...
