usually it would be about 65-70 for daytime highs, this time of year, with night temps between 40 and freezing ...its 70 at 4:31 am right now!! :eek:

OH MY GOD...Santa Ana winds. Unless you live here in So. Calif. you haven't a clue. High gust winds and it is HOT! That is what Santa Ana winds are. The winds from the canyons blow down south and bring not only high gust winds, but hot weather as well. Two days now. Geez. On Friday it was windy, but it wasn't hot. It is 90 degrees.

Well, welcome to FALL..the Santa Ana winds came early this year; usually they arrive in late October, around Halloween; right now, it is WINDY, DRY & about 80 degrees...
I am a little worried abt how the rest of fall is going to be. We had a summer when it was winter and spring. Crazy So. Calif. weather. :crazy:

Today is the coldest it has been all year at 71 and the highs the rest of the week and weekend is like mid 60's so fall finally hit us. Its been hanging in the high 80's and 90's since July

Yesterday at this time it was pouring. Today it seemed like it was going to rain again, but the sun came out and it ended up being a warm 76 degrees. Great weather for shopping since I am barely getting better from being sick.

OMG IT IS BAD!!!! 80 degrees. Malibu is close by and there is an extremely large fire that is out of control. It is in various parts of the canyon and the Pacific Coast Highway is closed. We are experiencing fierce Santa Ana Winds right now and it is blowing the smoke this way. I have all the windows and doors shut because the smoke and air quality is so bad. The sky is orange and brown, and all this ash is coming this way. I opened the front door to see if I could see the actual fire and I had to shut the door because I started coughing. It hurt my eyes.

80, sunny and beautiful.....its as warm here in southern Ontario as in Malibu Calif!!! (And we dont have any wildfires going!) This is the warmest fall in our HISTORY!!!!!!!!!

Funny you asked, right now on the news a reporter is at the castle, where much of it is destroyed. One of the persons who helps run the castle grabbed what they could from the castle and they just showed some fabulous mementos, great old pics with beautiful frames, just a shame. Nostalgia type stuff.

VERY VERY WINDY...Smoke is everywhere; the sky is hidden by enormous amount of smoke from the fire; it smells like I am near a camp fire; the smell is so strong, that even when the windows and doors closed, you can still the smell of smoke lingers..it is just scary!!!
Girlfriend, I just came from taking my daughter to pick up her work check. IT IS ALMOST PITCH BLACK OUT HERE!!!! It is weird seeing it dark at 3 p.m. It is hot, windy, the ashes are blowing into our eyes, the smell is horrendous and it looks like armaggedon! One part of the sky is orange/brown and the other is very very dark, almost black. We can't see the sun! The wind is blowing the smoke and ash over us. :eek:

Looking north and northwest. Fortunately, the smoke his thinned out somewhat and it's too far from me to smell it or otherwise be affected by it...

About a 1/2 hour ago, they were showing the fire live on CNN and they said that it was now under control and the wind was dissipating the smoke..so they cut away to other news

I wish it were under control, there is a live report (on abt five channels) talking abt the powerful winds making it hard to contain it. There are many hot spots.

Exactly. I am on the west and the winds are blowing in our direction. The news just stated how we are having it the worst as far as the smoke, air quality and so forth. They showed an aeriel view of our area and all you see is a dark, thick cloud.

Don't worry sweetie, we are far from the fire. A drive to Malibu from my house takes abt 15 minutes. The fire is in the canyons, not to mention there is another fire in an area called Santa Clarita.

I was thinking they might because of a danger of smoke inhalation...smoke can be MORE deadly than fire, sometimes

I see your point. Many times when there have been Malibu fires, we always seem to get the smoke and ash, the winds today just made it worse. It was a few years ago that this occurred and it was not as bad, but still it made for bad breathing.

Ok, it is hot, dry, the humidity is less than 7%, Santa Ana winds, gritty, ashy and smoky air is all around us. The sky is orange and brown. Terrible. Breathing this air is awful. Right now it is 98 degrees.

Yeah for sure. Our high was 96 yesterday. :crazy: Nice hot weather, too bad we are dealing with the fires. Can't even let the dog outside. Our son's school is keeping the kids indoors, no recess or eating lunch outside.

I can't explain our weather. Foggy mornings, cold mornings and then in the afternoon it is either warm and sunny or a cold breeze comes through. Weird. Well, I guess that is our winter.

You're lucky,the snow that we had in Kenai,Alaska has melted and right now at 1205 am november7th,2007 it is cloudly and about 40 to 35 degrees.And I beleive it has something to do with globa warming.

Well, we have those Santa Ana winds again (what five times already in two months?) but it is very slight winds, nothing major like before. Malibu has a fire raging again for the third time. It never seems to fail. In November, we have fires raging nearby.

Ok, we had some sun this morning and warm weather. It is now gloomy, cloudy and cold. 60 degrees. Some of the smoke from the nearby Malibu fire was hanging over us, but now that smell is gone.
