Extreme heat and an extreme drought. I'm in Alabama, not Arizona! :mad: At least in July the temperatures were somewhat below normal which made the heat tolerable, but I hit 100 today(very rare, but not unheard of) with heat indexes over 105, but it's going to get worse. By mid-week heat indexes are expected over 110 which is getting into the really dangerous range. No organized rain in site... deficit is approaching 20 inches after some slight relief in Early July. It's bad, worst drought perhaps ever in a lot of places.

Actually may be a bit worse tomorrow and Thursday, heat advisories are out. At or near 100 with heat indexes close to 110 through Saturday. A brief reprieve(but still above normal and freaking hot) for a couple of days with possibly a repeat next week.

Did manage to get a little rain on Sunday and yesterday, but otherwise the drought continues to worsen, and there will be no organized rain anytime soon.

I love it hot as well. Right now it is 80 degrees, but it either gets gloomy around 5-6pm or it starts out gloomy in the morning. I want it bright, sunny, and hot all damn day!:lol:

Well the weather here was allot of fun today it was really hot for most of the day but around 4 it was starting to get dark in the west and it just kept getting darker and darker and close to 6 o'clock allot of stormy clouds were heading our way. I was at work while this was going on and I work at a nursing home so around this time our boss came in and told us to hold off serving the residents till the weather passed. Then about 5 minutes later the CNA's were getting the residents and putting them in the hall way and about 10 minutes later the rest of us got into the hall way and it started to down pour. The wind was nasty, one of the nurses was looking out from the hallway and saw the front door wouldn't stay shut that's how bad the wind was and this lasted till about 6:40, and as we were standing in the hall we could hear some hall but it wasn't real bad hall. But after the rain was over somebody called because the electricity went out but our generator turned on and they called to let us know that the town was with out power. It hasn't rained since then but it's still lightening outside now and its 10:40p.m. and about an hour ago the electricity came back on in my town. I live out in the country and in the next county so we didn't lose power but as I got off of work I drove downtown and it was really dark this happened once this past winter my town was without power for 3 days so it was pretty dark driving downtown and there were tons of limes and some trees down so I really had to drive slow but the rivers didn't flood over so that was good. So that's how are weather was today.

It is freaking hot everywhere in Southern California; last night I was in Orange County, and I thought I was literally going to pass out, because the club I was in, did not have an a/c (it was murder); then today, it is still very warm, muggy, hovering around 85 degrees.
Yeah it is. I wanted to get out of the house but my son is next door at a birthday party. My step-daughter dropped off her 7 year old daughter here and so she too is at the party. They are in a jolly jumper and they are SWEATING!!!!! Crazy ass kids. :crazy: It is gorgeous.

Friday night at about 10:30 PM, and actual thunderstorm and very heavy rain. After it ended at about 11:20 PM, I checked my rain gauge in the backyard... 1" (one inch). Wow! I think that was the heaviest rain here than all of last winter! And in September... very rare.
