It's beautiful out. It's been in the 90s the past few days with clear blue skies and no wind. A bit on the humid side, but beautiful nonetheless.

The hills are all green and the wildflowers are out in the fields and it's bright sunshine. The plum, apricot and peach blossoms are out--with all kinds of color.

We still need to wring out a few more inches of rain before June, so we can be set for the summer dry season, however.

You living in the valley, it is no surprise to me abt those temps. I know having to had to go to the valley for one reason or another, it is always comfortable coming back home and feeling the ocean breeze. ;)

That's not too much of a change, only about 12 degrees.
I've seen cities with much more extreme temp changes, like Paso Robles... it can be 50 in the early morning and 100 degrees in the afternoon!

Well, the record low temp for all of California is -45 degrees (at Boca, in the Sierra Nevedas).
The record low for Los Angeles is 28 degrees, for Woodland Hills, 19 and for Palmdale (high desert) 7 above.

But it's suppoed to be back into the 70s and 80s by Thursday, so the teasing will continue then!

I was curious on the record temps in LA; and found that on Feb. 6th, 1989, majority of the San Fernando Valley dropped to 18 degrees...BRRRRRRR, honey, that is cold!
That 18 degrees for Van Nuys surprises me. The coldest I've recorded is 28 and I'm only about 8 miles away from VN.
Feb., 1989 was the last time there was snow in some parts of the valley (foothill towns, mainly).

I grew up in one of the wealthiest parts of San Diego; and there was once a house for sale, that was RIGHT ON THE BEACH; the home sold for 20 million dollars!!!. I think the least expensive home you can purchase in my area is for 800,000, and trust me, that home is far from being a mansion; the cost of a home here is ridiculous!
That is the truth! I seen a home on HGTV selling for $250,000 in Alabama, and it was HUGE! Five bedroom, three bath and a humongous backyard! A house like that here would sell for $650,000 or more!:rolleyes:

FREEZING! Tonight will almost certainly be the coldest April night EVER. We were very warm through most of March so all of the flowers, plants, and trees are in full bloom(and will likely be killed tonight). We hit 31 this morning(our first freeze since March 18th), and only reached 47 this afternoon with blustery cold northwest winds. It's the first day we have failed to reach 50 since March 4th. If tonight's low of around 25 verifies it will shatter the old record for the date and set an all-time record low for the month! It will also be our coldest morning since Mid-February. There were even SNOW flurries, yes, snow flurries, reported over a wide area late last night and during the pre-dawn hours. Amazing.

Atlanta is expected to destroy the record low set in 1886! :eek:

I am on vacation in Virginia. I chose to come here from NY figuring I would get warmer temps. I only had 1 day out of 9 that was warm. (75 degrees) The rest of the time it was 50's. Anyway, now I see that a huge storm is coming just in time for my return to NY. In fact, if the storm tracks the right way, I could be getting snow :) They are even talking feet, not just inches of snow. I live on the coast, so most likely I will get rain. But as the weather people like to say, 50 miles can mean the difference between rain and snow. I remember when I was a kid, we got a mid april snow storm. I seem to remember getting like 2 feet. So, you never know! I'll brace for the worst and maybe even score a snow day for monday! :)

We had a severe thunderstorm about an hour ago with hail and strong winds, it blew a big tree over in our backyard and my son said the hail at his school busted out a bunch of car windows.

Sweep merciful crap I'm getting tired of this.

Today, started in Bowling Green KY, drove up to Owensboro KY. 60 miles North-ish. From there, back to BG, then over back home to Albany, KY - 90 miles East-South-East from BG. Keep all that mileage in mind.

The entire time I've been on the road today, it would be raining almost-sheets of rain for a few seconds. Then, it'd suddenly stop, and would become sunny again. Lather, rinse, repeat for 200 miles of driving.

And the local radio station (I'm home, so there's only one) never once broke from music - maybe their machine didn't go off, or it didn't come up on their computer - but there was a miscommunication somewhere and I've got half a mind to complain to the FCC.

Of course, with the station being it's usual self, I wound up being the sole source of updated weather info at the tornado shelter (Not a lot of basements around here) - my RAZR somehow had internet-capable signal, in a tornado shelter, in bad weather.

Well we got rain and 70 degree humidity temps. And it's supposed to rain from now till Tuesday. Just last week some places here in Nebraska got up to 6 inches of rain and today the msot we got were 3 inches and Tornados watches are going crazy around here so that's the type of weather that we got here today. Oh and did anyone else here about that tornado that wiped out that kansas town it even killed 7 people and left 63 injured that was just awful.
