Marking Period ended this Wednesday (we didn't have school today and yesterday) and the grades should come in the mail within a week....I know some of my grades already--
English- A-
Biology- A- (probably because there is one more thing to grade but before that my average was a 90.1)
Spanish- A+ (HELL YA!!)
Geometry- No idea prob a B-/C+
History- Probably an A--- I haven't gotten lower than a 94 on any test or quiz!
Gym- Pass, I didn't skip once!
Electives--
Only one gets averaged into your GPA and the other doesn't really matter (Most people take an elective and a study, but if you're taking 2 electives, you can choose which on gets averaged into GPA...)
So I'm not sure which one will by my GPA one yet...cooking I think, though

Well, we just got midterms yesterday. We'll change classes up in January. I made a 96 in Senior Lit. and Writer's Workshop. A 91 in Family Comm/ Careers and 88 in Child Development.

I got all a's except english!I got a b in english!I really hate b's and I really hate english.Its been my worst grade since the 5th grade!

Choir - A
Honors Algebra II - A-
Spanish I - A-
Biology - A-
English 10 - A-
Debate - A

Given that Honors Algebra II is a 5 points class for me, as I am a Sophomore, my GPA is a 3.95.

Honors Geometry - 97 (And I always got a 94 in Algebra last year... go figure)
Theatre I - 95
Biology I - 99
U.S. History - 100 (I had this guy for Spanish/Latin last year and he is soooooo easy)
Band - 96 (On my report card it said 92. But I asked him why I got a 92 and he said it was a mistake and it was supposed to be a 96. He said he'd tell them to fix it)

With the two weighted grades for my honors classes, I got a 4.5 GPA. I am SO happy, it's not even funny...

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad news, but with 4 4.0's and 2 5.0's, you average those out and you get a 4.333 :-

In my district, A+ are 4.5 on the scale. So it's to 5.0s, 2 4.0s, and 2 4.5s. Averages out to 4.5.

That's exactly how I am. I was acting like a freak when I thought I got a 92 in band. To me, the only difference between a B and an F is that other people think Bs are better. So you can probably imagine how moody I am when I get a B on a test or a quiz or something. Fortunately for my friends and family, I've never gotten a D of F, and the last time I got a C was on a test in the 5th grade. I say fortunate for them because I act like a b**** when I get a B, so I would really be a pain if I got anything lower.

Finally I found someone who agrees with me about grades.I don't usually get b's except in my report card for english http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/mad.gif and I was so close to an a.I never actually got a c on a report card but I had a c on one of my english papers in the begining of the school year and I thought I was gonna get a c on my report card.After I did some extra credit I thought I might get an a- but no b+!Your lucky that you don't really know me I was going crazy.by the way i'm in Honors English too...you would think I would get an a!

I can't believe how uptight you all are about getting a B. Sheesh, you better get over this phobia of not getting anything but A's when you come to college, because trust me, you won't get all A's. The average college student drops one full point on the GPA scale compared to how they did in high school, and from my experience and the experience of friends, I would say this is for the most part true. I mean, there is absolutely nothing wrong with aspiring for nothing but the best from yourself, but the world doesn't end when you get a B, or a C, or a D, or an F......

Y'all are gonna put yourself in an early grave if ya don't lighten up a little....

Well I'm not a genious and I never had an f.Come to think of it my lowest grade on a worksheet was a c and a b on my report card but LaverneShirley is probably alot smarted than me.I know one person who hasn't gotten a b since the 4th grade(not me)She gets 100% in everything.Really I've seen it.

I seriously doubt I'm a genious. I just push myself extremely hard, and I know I'm going to fall hard one day. My mother keeps telling me I'm going to have an emotional breakdown over grades one day; maybe she's right. I just can't help it. It all started when I was little. People were always making such a big deal about how "bright" I was. As I got older, it was always how bright I was. I was never pretty, I was never talented, I was never coordinated. No one ever told me that. I was always bright. It made me feel like it was all I had. I know better now, I just can't get rid of the feeling that everyone will look down on me if I'm not perfect.

Agree....I care about my grades, but I don't really mind when I get a B.. I am taking mostly Honors courses, so I have to expect the Bs. My Spanish teacher (she is also an admissions person at Brown) is forever telling us that colleges would rather see a B in an Honors class than a A in an easier level of the same class. In some classes I have just gotten used to the fact that I will never be great in that area. For example, in English, I have come to terms with the fact that I can't write essays for my life, but I still try hard. In some classes, though I cam really psyco about getting B's...like in Spanish, if I get below a 90, I go crazy......but only one grade (out of 18!!) was a B this entire marking period, so that's good. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

i care bout grades and stuff and depending on which class it is i set higher standards...i dunno i am pretty smart but i didnt try in middle cuz personal that was the biggest waste of 3 years...lol

im taking 2 acclerated courses and rest honors and i get all A's and B's so im happy or something, I mean my worst class is art and soo thats a little weird, cuz i try too...but i suck at it, hockey players and art dont mix! but i wont cry if i dont get straight a's....but i hate B+'S!! THEY ARE SOO ANNoying, come teach. make up ur mind...a- or b...if u try hard then shouldnt effort count or something and move it up?

I got my report card yesterday. Straight A's! I am so pumped. I so thought I was going to get a B+ in Math to keep me off the high honor roll. My four lowest grades were in math, gym, music, and computer. Lol. I should've gotten a better grade in gym though because I volunteered to play football with the boys when they needed and extra player, and explained how to play football to the other girls.
