The weirdest and creepiest thing happened at my middle school today-they had to evacuate the building for 45 minutes and have the police come in when someone phoned in a bomb threat. At the same time, three high schools here getting those too. They said it was a teen prob. and it was a prank call. It was pretty freaky!

My school used to get bomb threats phoned in all the time. Although, I'm sure schools take those kinds of things more seriously right now.....

It's weird, because there were more bomb threats during Columbine than now. Actually, there hasn't been one yet this year. Nor last year, or the year before that.
8th grade, however, when Columbine happened, there were about four in one week.
At one point, my friends and I were so disensitised(sp?) by all the threats, that while we were out on the field, we took a picture of all of us with our Gym in the distance. It was going to be entitled, "Before the bomb"...and the next picture would be titled "After the bomb..." Of course, that second picture would never be, fortunetly.
Kinda immature, I know. But that was a LONG time ago...

IT's scary, I know. We have to have 2 fire drills a month, and then a containment drill once a marking period. Containment drills are the worst, you have to lock yourself in the room and sit in the corner for like 20 minutes. Oh well, better safe than sorry.

Only 45 minutes, huh? Last year year one of the high schools in my district let everyone leave 5 hours early because of a bomb threat. My district gets them all the time. Exactly one year after Columbine, someone wrote on a bathroom mirror in Freshman building (which is where I am now, I just wasn't there at the time) that "Columbine will happen again." Scared the crap out of everyone, but of course it was just a hoax. Some people are just sick.

My teachers do not conisder anthrax pranks funny at all. Not only do they not tolerate, but they have been instructed not to talk about it. Two of my teachers have served in previous wars, so they take this very serious, and have been instructed by the ranks they are in not to speak of the situation. Kinda freaky...

There was a bomb threat at GTE when I was working there in 1997. Everyone was asked to evacuate the building. We were outside for about ten minutes and then we went back to work. We weren't allowed to tell any customers about the bomb threat.

OMG, I really feel sorry for you kids of today (well, I know that many of you are adolescents, so no offense, but....) when I was growing up (back in the 80's), I attended about 10 different schools between elementary school and high school, and never once experienced a bomb threat at any of those schools.

We had a bomb threat once, but it was way back in second grade. One year the fire alarm went off at my school, but it wasn't a planned drill. Everyone evacuated and we were outside a long time. Fire trucks came with their sirens on. It took so long that we all went into the church and my entire school prayed the rosary together. I think it ended up some little kindergartener pulled the fire alarm...

Zonkers, the schools I go to seem to get a bomb threat annually.
- 6th grade: school evacuated outside, then by buses to stadium (This one I thought was quite serious, since we were moved to a stadium almost half-a-mile away.) My sister came and picked me up b/c she saw it on the news.
- 7th grade: When I started carrying my notebook w/ me during severe weather, fire, bomb drills/threats (I write stories alot http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif) Evacuated outside, but not to stadium.
- 8th grade: Evacuated to other side of parking lot. Got kissed on the cheek by a girl I like, but that's a different story... http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
- 9th grade: (different school) Evacuated to parking lot very close to school. Stayed outside almost 2 hours, it was hot! Thank goodness I was wearing deodarant http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif
- 10th grade: slight scare, but proven false b/f evac
- 11th grade: none yet, but most likely one will occur...

God- you ain't kidding about the annual bomb threats. Thankfully in my small hickish town nothing seems to go on like that. Thank God!
