I mean, we have a system that looks more like a bingo or lottery game when it comes to being helped. I had to go there today and I was getting mad when people who arrived AFTER me were helped BEFORE me. I got a number like this B-045. Some people have numbers that begin with C or A and it doesn't make sense. They should have an "express" line for people like me who just needed to get something simple done and VOILA! get outta there. But noooooooooooo!!!! It doesn't matter if you get there before a crowd like I did. Is it like this for anyone else?

OMG Irene we did the exact same thing today. I went early too, but I saw that mess and I just left. I agree there should be an express window, all I needed was a copy of something, and I would have to wait at least two hours. I had the letter H, and your right it didn't matter that I was there early. There has to be a better way.

I waited for over two hours when I had to get mz new ID when I turned 21. And there weren't even that many people. I hate the DMV.

How funny!!!! I had to go and pick up my personalized plates...THAT'S IT. It took no more than five minutes to do. But I had to wait over an hour! Ridiculous. I just don't get it. I remember back in the days there would be a long line and people were directed to a certain line for their transaction. Now, I think they just do this bingo number thingy so people can sit down and wait. And wait. And wait. It's horrible.

That's why I send my husband!! He has way more patience then me. i am good for like five minutes tops, then I start going bonkers.

They might have had appointments. I know in Florida they have to take the people with appointments before others. That is why I have renewed my license online. Much easier and less hassle. I am moving to Alabama in a few months and need to find out if they have online renewal there.

I went to get my ID earlier this year and amazingly I only had to wait about 10 minutes and the process only took about 5 minutes tops and it was really crowded.

Our DMV offers appointments as well. The last time I had an appt. I still had to wait almost 25 minutes. Just like a doctor's office. WORSE! Like my boyfriend said, if I have an appt. scheduled at 9, I EXPECT TO BE CALLED AT 9...not 25 mins. later!

I hate the DMV as well. One time, I went there during a storm and i've been waiting there for 2 hours, and all of a sudden they lost infomation to ALL of thier computers, so they told everybody to come back tomorrow!

Word of advice: Never go during a storm. I learned the hard way.

The California DMV is the worst, and the other thing that I have experienced is people who come in and want their friends to wait on them, and start a conversation while they are being waited on by their friends. Or those people who are walking around that could be at a window helping someone, or when it is your turn it happens to be the next open window persons time to take a break or go to lunch.

You think California's DMV is that baaad! Try coming to any Texas DMV some time. Texas' DMV has gotta be by far the worst ever. I ended up waiting there for an ID once for up to 5 1/2 hours. Oklahoma's DMV, on the other hand, was a piece of cake, and rather very swift(only took me 15 minutes to get my state ID there).
