I know it takes time to build a new network, but so far the numbers for their shows have been really terrible. What do you think can be done to help the net?

Did anyone honestly expect it to do spectacular? UPN and WB have always been low rated and nothing was really going to change that, merger or not.

better yet what does cw stand for

Maybe they could merge with MyNetwork TV. ;)

The CW stands for the "C" as in "CBS" and the "W" stands for the WB. Both networks merged, it makes sense.
They cant do anything, they have always had bad ratings.

I like the network, well only because America's Next Top Model & Smackdown are on there....

Move Everybody Hates Chris and Girlfriends to either Monday or Tuesday nights or even Wednesday as the lead in to ANTM.

well they did just announced that they are swapping their Monday and Sunday night line-ups. So 7th Heaven and Runaway will air on Sundays now and EHC, Girlfriends, All Of us and The Game will now be airing on monday nights.

Thank god someone else besides me that hates 7th Heaven!!! I couldn't believe they picked it up after cancelling it! What a dumbass idea, it's not going to last anyway. Everwood was actually a decent show.
I used to like 7th Heaven until they started adding no talent sisters of even zero talent Jessica Simpson and Hilary Duff. Haylie Duff and Ashlee Simpson are one of the worst actresses and singers of all time. Yoko Ono has more talent in her middle finger than these girls all together!

What should The CW do?
Disappear and give the time back to the affiliates.

Then we'd probably get more infomercials and tabloid shows.

They should have:
1. Cancelled 7th Heaven(Ugh, let this show DIE already!)
2. Renewed Everwood
3. Cancelled Veronica Mars
4. Cancelled All of Us
5. Not picked up The Game
6. Should have gave Reba a full-season order
7. Should have never thought of putting Everybody Hates Chris on Sunday at 7pm(!).
I think that's about it...

I totally agree! I prefer independent stations instead of network ones whose schedules are dictated by corporate fat cats instead of the citizens of the respective communities.

3. Cancelled Veronica Mars
Blasphemy! Veronica Mars was and is still the best show of both networks. Its ratings may be anemic, to say the least, but The CW needed one critical darling to at least give their network some credibility. Thats why they also should've picked up Everwood and canned 7th Heaven!

I DISAGREE. i don't like independent stations because then we get stuck with a bunch of religious crap, instead of quality entertainment where they actually realize that other people have rights other than christian right-wing groups that want to control everyone and everything.

Well, that may be true in some cases, but not with all stations that are/were independent. It depends on which station it is. Plenty of independent stations in the past and today had/have a good supply of programming: sitcoms, dramas, etc.

they should go back to separate stations, because the shows that they have on now suck. All EXCEPT for Reba, All of Us and Girlfriends.

well maybe i was being a bit harsh, but overall i personally prefer the big networks which i feel offer a broader range of quality programming, which in general tends to be a lot better than the stuff offered on independent stations...

It would be better to have Veronica Mars & One Tree Hil on the same night whether it'd be tuesday or wednesday

I think you guys are really overreacting, The CW is new so of course the ratings are off a little bit... I think that it's going to take some time for this network to really find itself... So far the numbers in demo's are looking good, GG was #2 in Women 18-49, One Tree Hill is doing ok too...

2. Left Veronica the way it was. This new simple storyline stuff sucks.

well i don't like this show, but VM is the least of the problems at the CW, along w/GG it's probrally one of the only shows on the network that are continuing to gain anything near decent ratings for the network... The entire monday and sunday line-ups are of concern: Runaway is an instant flop, 7th Heaven is down in all demographics and in households, The Game is an instant flop, All Of Us is down in all key demos, even, Smallville is down...
it looks like Reba is going to be back before we know it.

And Gilmore, as predicted, is back on track.

If The CW renews 7th Heaven for another year, then I will die of shock. Even with the pay cuts, I'm guessing 7th Heaven is still one of their most (if not most) expensive shows to produce. And now with this move to Sundays, I'm thinking that the ding! dong! the witch is finally dead!
