What are some of the saddest moments on TV you can think of?
Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air-When Carlton and Will gets arrested for being black, the ending was very sad.
Roseanne-When Jackie was getting abused.
Saved By The Bell-When Jessie was using drugs to help her study.

Yep definately when Will and Carlton got arrested for being black. I can relate to harassment based on race. I was once told to leave a black owned store because I was white. Plus in high school one of my Hispanic friends had a racist father who often said he didn't want his son hanging out with white people.
On Roseanne the episode where Dan's mother tried to kill him

I agree with alot of the ones said above especially James' death on GT and the John Ritter memorial ep of 8SR. Some others are:
Elaine's death on Soap. She was my favorite character. :(
That episode of The Waltons where their aunt or cousin or whatever was being forced off the land she had lived on for most of her life, all so the government could build an interstate or something like that. I can't watch it without sobbing.

Saddest moments for me:
Gimme A Break when Dolph Sweet's passing away was dealt with when the Chief died. That year my father passed away and I was still grieving. I broke down during that episode. It is hard to this day to watch.
Family Ties episode #35, M is for the Many Things, when Elyse was upset by her parents divorce. When Elyse expressed her feelings to her mom about it I wept and wow Meredith Baxter Birney showed her dramatic acting skills in that episode.
Eight Is Enough, Children of the Groom episode, where Tom and Abby got married. Betty Buckley turned in a powerful and emotional performance in that one. I was grabbed on that one.
Alice, Episode 121, Alice's Big Four-Oh!, and that was a tear jerker.

The Waltons:
* when Erin's boyfriend G. W. Haines is killed in training ("The First Casualty")
* when Dr. Curtis Willard, Mary Ellen's husband, is killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor while taking care of wounded soldiers ("Day of Infamy")
* when the Waltons take in two orphaned English children ("The Children's Carol")--the scene that gets me is the low-flying aircraft which terrorizes the children at the end of Part 1
The Wonder Years:
* when Kevin and Winnie break up at the museum ("Heart Break"): "Kevin ... I've met someone!"
* when Wayne tried to join the Army but was rejected for psoriasis/back peeling ("Private Butthead")
