You know, i'm gonna go with the x-treme sports movies...'Rad' 'Gleaming the Cube' 'Thrashin' and 'Airbourne'. All of those are really good.
But my favorite traditional sports movie would have to be 'Field of Dreams' 'Major League' or 'Little Giants'(I love that movie!)

I have many favorites, it is probably my favorite genre. I will list my favorites by sport:

Baseball - The Bad News Bears
Football - Rudy
Basketball - Hoosiers
Hockey - Slapshot
Boxing - Rocky

I am a big Jerry Goldsmith fan so I love the Rudy and Hoosiers soundtracks and play them all the time.

Major League (Can't count the number of times I've seen this. We have it on tape at home and I'm suprised the tape hasn't worn out)

I totally forgot about Bad News Bears and A League of Their Own. Those are actually the best baseball films by far.

Did anyone see Remember the Titans? It was excellent. It's not really about the sport, but it's the setting, so I guess it can be considered a sports movie...

A League of Their Own. It's my favorite movie ever. (80skid, I know it by heart, too!) It's on TBS right now... OMG it's on David Lander's part right now! "Some will walk outta here today winners. Others will just walk outta here" Anyway, it's got a ton of L&S people in it! Penny Marshall directed it, Garry Marshall plays Walter Harvey, Eddie Mekka is Mae's guy in the bar, David Lander is announcer, Tracy Reiner is Betty... plus Tom Hanks, who was in another Penny movie. Rosie O'Donnell, who had an L&S reunion on her show. Jon Lovitz, who was in the most recent episode of Bette, which stars Bette Midler, who was in Beaches, which was directed by Garry Marshall (Okay, it's a long shot but it works; I hate Jon Lovitz in everything but League). Geena Davis, who was in Stuart Little with Michael J. Fox, who was in a movie with Penny Marshall (or going the long way, MJF was in Back to the Future with Christoper Lloyd who was in Taxi in which one episode guest starred Penny, OR Christopher Lloyd was in Clue with Michael McKean who was on L&S...) I could go on but you probably don't want me to...

Another sports movie I like is The Waterboy. I watched it again today. It's so funny, and it has Henry Winkler in it, which is always a plus.

Someone mentioned cheerleading so that reminded me of this great sports movie!
"The Positively True Adventures Of The Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom". That one's a hoot! What a psycho!

Lol, NEWHART FAN, I've seen that Cheerleading Mom movie, or at least most of it!

As for me, mine are

Baseball: A League of Their Own is my favorite, no contest...but Angels in the Outfield was ok. I have never seen Major League.

Football: I liked the Replacements and Remember the Titans. Also, I remember seeing one when I was little....it was a Disney movie, and it was about a donkey that played football. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? I think it was called Gus or something. Brian's song was ok too, although I don't remeber it well. I do remember thinking it was ok.

Basketball: Space Jam, it is also the only basketball movie I have ever seen

Hockey: The Mighty Ducks, or Mystery, Alaska.

Misc.: This is kind of borderline, but I liked A Knight's Tale, which is about 60% jousting and stuff. We may not joust anymore today, but it was a sport at least at one time....

But hands down, A League of Their Own is my all time favorite sports movie, and the only one on my list I've watched more than once.

Being a distance runner, I like the movie about Billy Mills winning the 1964 Olympic 10 thousand meter run for the U.S. It's called "Running Brave," If I recall correctly.
