I don't think it'll happen anytime soon but it's definitely possible. I personally wouldn't be too excited about it, I love the black and white feel of the show. Gleason said it best himself, you don't need color for comedy.

And the proof of this philosophy of his, was that his show remained in black-and-white for as long as CBS would allow him, and only went color in 1966 after CBS decided to have 100% of their prime-time programming in color. That, I.I.N.M., was the only reason Gleason went color in the first place.

That was a very crucial season (66-67) in TV history. Viewers were forced into seeing their favorite shows in color for the first time, and for many, that was a bitter pill to swallow. It didn't hurt the variety shows and many comedies, but the switch from B&W to color had a strong impact on the dramatic programs. Depending on the show itself, black and white had a way of setting a tone for drama that was remarkable. Taking that mood away could and DID ruin many shows. I have to admit, when I first saw the Kramdens apartment in color it actually made me miss the familiar gray and white shades of the B&W's. Happily, there was always the C39's over on WPIX, so we had the best of both worlds.

at least they do a better job colorizing things now then in the 80's. I wouldn't want to see it either, maybe just an episode though for the fun of it

I don't need the Classic 39 to be colorized. If they do, I'll pass. I think the current b &w versions sparkle enough.
IIRC, the sketch "Glow Worm Cleaning" was colorized by Viacom in the 80s for one of the specials that showcased the release of the lost episodes. I never saw it, so maybe someone who did can comment.

Yes, that was shown on one of The Honeymooners Reunion Specials with Jackie, Art, Audrey and Joyce. I just took a look at it again since it's been some time. As far as it being a novelty for a one-time thing, it was interesting to see. I would never, ever want to see that done to any others, whether they are the "lost" or "C-39's". It isn't natural for one thing, and they weren't intended to look like that for another. Black and white had its place in cinema and TV and it should be left alone.
