HOLLYWOOD - Director Oliver Stone wants to make another movie about the 9/11 terrorist attacks, because the subject matter is too "huge" to cover in one film.
The Natural Born Killers director's new film World Trade Center has been acclaimed for its touching portrayal of the real-life firefighters who risked their lives to save others in the rubble of New York's Twin Towers in 2001.
His film, which stars Nicolas Cage as real-life 9/11 hero John McLaughlin, has been well received in America, despite some criticism that the movie comes too soon after the tragedy, and that has spurred Stone on to consider a second World Trade Center project.
Stone admits he has uncovered countless tales about the atrocities and he wants to bring them all to the big screen.
At a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) lecture last night Stone said, "It (9/11) was huge. I think it's the basis of another film for me.
"I've started with the basics, with these two men in the center of things."

Leave it alone, Oliver.
I agree!! Enough is enough already. I didn't see the first one and won't watch the rest, he's just milking it now.

You know what I don't get? How someone could write a book series on 9/11 and not be considered "milking it" but someone wants to do a movie and all of a sudden, it's a bad idea.

The problem with Oliver Stone is, sometimes he doesn't know when to leave things alone.
Case in point: He is releasing a SECOND "Director's cut" of his mega-flop "Alexander."
Apparently the first Director's cut didn't convince everyone that this movie was good (after everyone trashed the original version,) so he's making an even LONGER third version to try to redeem this horrible movie AGAIN!
"World Trade Center" got great reviews. I don't think his next project should be another 9/11 film because he will look like he is trying to "milk it."
Oliver Stone hints at darker 9/11 film in future
Moscow -- U.S. filmmaker Oliver Stone, who surprised many with the patriotic flavour of his new film World Trade Center, hinted in Moscow yesterday that he is considering a more controversial follow-up investigating the "conspiracy" around 9/11.
"There is a great story in a movie, a conspiracy by a group of people in the American administration who have an agenda and who used 9/11 to further that agenda," he told journalists in Russia.
There could be a "fascinating project [on] what happened after Sept. 11," the director said at his packed press conference on the fifth anniversary of the attacks.
Stone accused U.S. President George W. Bush of mishandling the fight against Osama bin Laden's militants and using the crisis to stoke fear and bolster his own power at home in a way that was "right out of George Orwell." AFP
See? He's going to do another "JFK" with 9/11. Probably not a good idea.

I like Stone's new idea. I saw a doc. that suggested that America had planned the 9/11 attack. Not saying I think that's true, but it was interesting none the less. I do have to say that Stones best work is behind him though.

I think that he did one and that was great, but doing another just seems over the top. It's like he wants to take advantage of something just bc he did it well the first time.

Oliver Stone is "milking" it. His last good picture was Platoon.

How interesting, a coworker and I were talking about the same subject. He said some guy has made a documentary showing the attacks, and how the towers should have withstood a plane going through the building. He also said, that on the tape of the towers you can see explosions coming from the bottom floors which is the reason that the towers collapsed. Supposedly the week before it happened all the security people were told to take a week off, so someone could have planted explosives inside. I don't know how true this theory is, I'll have to get the name of the documentary.
