View Full Version : Is 25 too much or not enough?
Go ahead and slam me for being unpatriotic, but don't ya think airing the American telethon on no less than 25+ channels is overkill? Is the continual interruptions of tv schedules in line with our president asking us to return to our normal routines?

I can understand it being on NBC, ABC and CBS, but I was going through most of the
channels and that's all I saw, the telethon. I even saw it on WB Fox Channel and I think on Lifetime Channel, I'm not
sure about that. Do they really need all
those stations/channels?

It was on I think 33 TV stations, at least 8,000 radio stations, and was broadcast to over 100 countries.

I'm glad that someone else said it before me! I didn't mind it being on so many channels, because I was going to watch it anyway, but the fact that it was on HBO really made me angry. I pay a premium for that channel and expect to see unique programming that I cannot see on broadcast channels or other cable stations. I don't know, maybe it could have shown it's support and patriotism with a good old John Wayne movie or something. My husband told me that I'm overreacting and being selfish, but I can see that other people agree with me as well!
It felt spooky seeing one program on nearly every channel. I have to think that many of them decided to put that on for fear of a back-lash if they didn't. Which lacks sincerity.

Well, I slept through all of it, so I didn't much care.
What time was it on anyway? All I remember is laying down around 7:30 to read and waking up at 10 pm, fully dressed and with my contacts in. ::shrug:: Go figure.

coily2, I agree. It certainly should not have been on any premium channels.
