The recent release of the color honeymooners "Trip to Europe" has really whetted my appetite for the original b&w version that aired in the late 50's. I saw the b&w clips on the "BEST OF GLEASON" specials that aired in the 80's and the comic magic of Gleason-Carney-Meadows-Randolph is there in full form. The color episodes seem somewhat overly rehearsed and dry. Plus I am having a hard time with Sheila McRae as Alice. Anyone else have a view?

I would love to see the original b&w eps in their entirety but have never found a collector that had them and I have not heard of any plans for a DVD release. I once read somewhere that they are available to view at one of the TV museums. Anyone know more?

Thanks!
Cliff

I personally like the B&W versions better, but that's just me. A few collectors on this board have copies of these shows, if one of them doesn't PM you about them then let me know and I'll try to point you in the right direction. As far as a DVD release, I'm pretty sure they'll turn up on MPI's re-release of the Lost Episodes.
