Here is my poem regarding what happened on Tuesday. I'm 24 and my generation has never seen a war, I think that there has been some complacency on our part in that we have come to expect things would always stay as they are. Anyway, this is what I wrote about it:
Once I saw life through the eyes of a child
The days were long and the Earth was mild
What was lost on that day was the gift of time
Lives gone forever in one horrific crime
Before the sun could set upon that eve
I had lost my ability to believe
Now as I look upon the images of all that is human
I see the world with the eyes of a woman
Anyway, I'm not a writer, just my thoughts, glad I have this forum to express them
Once I saw life through the eyes of a child
The days were long and the Earth was mild
What was lost on that day was the gift of time
Lives gone forever in one horrific crime
Before the sun could set upon that eve
I had lost my ability to believe
Now as I look upon the images of all that is human
I see the world with the eyes of a woman
Anyway, I'm not a writer, just my thoughts, glad I have this forum to express them
