Obsessions

Everone has to hae something (or someone) that they are obsessed with. What or who is it?

Mine are Nancy McKeon and The Division. But mostly Nancy McKeon...but she's in TD and she's the only reason I watch it...so you figure it out.

Personally, I love to be called obsessed. I major in obsession. I obsess over Star Trek and Facts of Life. Avonlea,too.

The dictionary describes obsession as "a persistant disturbing preoccupation with an idea or feeling." I think those dictionary writers spend too much time trying to explaning too many words in too many complex phrases. I describe obsessinon as "a way of life." plain and simple.

Guys and Dolls. The biggest and best obsession I've ever had! I'm also obsessed with musicals in general. I"m obsessed with Gwen Verdon--I have yet to see Damn Yankees (nobody around here sells it!) but I have heard her voice and it is absolutely amazing. She's a smaller obsession, though. I'm also obsessed to anything realted to Peter Pan. Also Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days. And of course, my pal Frank Sinatra. And Sweet Charity. For the most part, it's all musicals. Best form of entertainment there is. Oh, and how can we forget Bob Fosse?

Adam-12. I could sit and watch that show for hours and hours and hours. It's also piqued an interest in criminal justice that was there before, but buried in my subconscious. That then led to what I guess you could call an obsession with Martin Milner. Though I would consider it an admiration more than obsession.

Uh, I also have an admiration for Richard Dawson. Love Hogan's Heroes, Match Game, and Family Feud.

Well, my first ever "obsession" was back in seventh grade, it was over "Dawson's Creek". It was the first "classic" season, and I'd wait for every Tuesday at nine o'clock. It stopped when the show started to suck, and that was the second season.

In eigth grade, I was totally obsessed with Star Wars. Like around my school, I was known as the "Star Wars Chick". In my yearbook that year, there was not one person who DIDN'T make some kind of Star Wars reference.

Ninth grade: X-Men.

Tenth Grade: The Facts of Life

Now: Who ever hasn't read the books they are going to think this is kind of pathetic, but I am totally obsessed over Harry Potter. Ever since I read the books last March, I've been a fanatic. Now since the movie's coming out in November, I'm even more psycho. If you haven't read the books, I highly recommend you go out and pick up the first one. Honestly, you won't regret it. And besides, at least it's not Pokemon.

My ROOMMATE didn't start this topic, I hope...lol. She's getting a bit peeved at my obsession with Hans Conried.

For those who don't know who that is, let me tell you-the Gwen Verdon obsessor? He was her boyfriend Boris in Can-Can. Peter Pan obsessor? (same person?) He was Captain Hook's voice in the Disney version, and if you've ever seen pictures of him...he LOOKS like the cartoon image. Anyways, I'm also making a website for him with all of my literally hundreds of sound clips and pictures, because no one knows who he is anymore, and he was a GREAT radio/tv/movie/broadway actor when he was alive.

Also, VILLAINS of any sort are also my obsession. (You should see my wallpaper and screensaver here on my computer.) And I guess Disney villains take the cake...I have a thing for voices, see, and I've met a couple actors to make me like them more.

I love watching tennis but I have never even played a real game. Well once I did. I had a real big obession on Gilligan's Island but it's kind of calmed down. I still watch it on my tapes I've recorded it on but I'm not crazy, crazy about it like I was earlier. Um.... I really don't have a real big obession now. Oh but I well.. kind of have this kind of crush on Haley Joel Osment, a child actor. It isn't really an obession but it kinda grew. I've seen A.I. and that really made me become a fan. Also Pay It Forward. He was so great in those films. Actually, ok I'll admit it, I really, really like Haley. He's just so cute and nice to me. I just really like him and also a good thing about it, he's 13 he's pretty close to my age, which is 12. Well I don't know if it's an obession or not. I don't have a scrapbook or something of him but I do like him. I've seen A.I. like a month ago but I wasn't on this site much to tell that I saw it. Did anyone else see it? It was great. The acting and everything was great. Ok got to go bye.
