Did anyone else remember that Princess Diana died four years ago today? What were y'all doing when you found out?
I woke up and found my mom and dad watching the news and saying Princess Diana was really hurt (They didn't announce it here until the afternoon)

I was at a party and we were told at the party.

My block was having a block party. I came inside after it was over and watched TV. Soon as I heard it, I was like, damn, that sucks.

Well, let's see.. I went over to my neighbor's house, and she was watching the news. Then I found out, it didn't really bug me.. The next day at school my 3rd Grade teacher kept crying and stuff. We watched the funeral, the Queen talk and all that stuff.

This is really, really bad, but I was starting my last semester in grad school and my friends and I went out the night before it happened and just got smashed. Beyond wrecked. You could have followed us and filmed a pretty good party sequence for an Animal House sequel - it was that nasty. I woke up in a ditch some time the next day and came home where I got very ill. It took me three days to get back to a functioning state. I then went out to bring in the papers that had been collecting on my front porch. I read the headline about Di's funeral, and I was very confused. How could so much happen during just one hangover?
Frankly, four years later, I couldn't care less if I tried. I wish I understood why Americans need to obsess about the Royals. I just don't get it. It is tragic that she died, but is it any more tragic than the thousands of other people who are killed in car accidents every month?

I agree. It's like with Aalyiha (sp?). It's sad that she died, but why is she so special? It's only as bad as all the other people who've been killed in plane crashes.

I can remember it like it was yesterday. It was a Saturday night--around 10pm EST. My brother told us she was in a car accident and had a concussion--or so they were saying. So we kept CNN on the whole time. I can remember the anchor getting the info in repeating Diana was in a car accident and then the graphics changed--and he said, we've just learned Princess Diana has died. I was shocked because they were saying she'd be alright and that she just had a concussion. Seeing images of the car while they were saying she had a concussion, in my opinion, I was wondering how she only had a concussion. Then, throughout the night, they had updates. I was watching WCW Worldwide wrestling on channel 2 and the anchors would break in and give the news. I have it on tape and it still gives me the chills--just like when Owen Hart was announced dead. Owen was a bigger shock--even though I had a feeling he was going to die even though they only said he fell(I didn't order the PPV but I was watching it scrambled) but that's off topic. And then I remember coverage on MSNBC all Sunday of Diana.
I think I'm done now--I tried to give all the details I could.lol

I can picture my mom crying at the television early in the AM. She was saddenned. One day before school I was watching Nick Arcade, and Phil Moore asked "Who married Prince Charles....?" then the red team buzzed in and said "Princess Di?". Then my mother said something.
Another memory of my mother saying something about Diana is one time we were on I-95 in Philadelphia around 1999 and we were in traffic and she says "Di's probobly laughing from her grave seeing this traffic".
I think that is what she said. I dont remember though. I'll have to ask her later on.
When Mom was crying at the TV, it was the day that Princess Diana passed away..
A friend of mine at school when I was in 4th Grade back in 1997 said on the bus "Di was 36 years old". He was making fun of PD's death. He has many problems.
As you have'nt heard, I am an AUTISTIC and OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE person and he is not messed up but he was having interaction trouble and needed more education, just like I did before I entered first grade.

I was in the car listening to the all news radio station. I was listening to a talk show, and the host announced that Princess Diana had been in an car accident. After I got home, I put on CNN for the rest of the night. I was absolutely shocked when the anchor announced that she had died. I felt very sad for her and her boys, Princes William and Harry. It's still hard to believe that it was that long ago.
