I want to see it soooo bad (But of course! I see any movie directed by or starring someone from L&S!), but until they change the times at the closest cheap theatre, I won't be able to. It's on at 12:45 (When neither of my parents are home), 3:45 (Whtn my dad is SOMETIMES home), 6:30 (When we eat supper... even if I skipped supper I know neither of my parents would want to), and 9:20 (They go to bed between 9-10, so they couldn't pick us up...). 4 times a day. Then they'll get mad because it won't make money. Why won't it make money? 'Cause it's only on 4 times a day. Anyway, my parents are gonna have to be the ones to get me and my friends there, because I'm the only one whose dying to see it and my friends' parents always take me everywhere.

I just saw it today, and I thought it was really good. It's certainly a refreshing change from most movies these days!

I just saw it and I loved it. It is a very good movie. I liked Julie Andrews, Anne Hathaway, Erik Von Detten, Mandy Moore that were in it.

I saw it today, it was pretty cute. Anne Hathaway is adorable...I bet we'll be seeing her in some other things soon. Personally, I think Lilly's brother Michael was alot cuter than that Erik Von Detten guy. But then I like that sort of shaggy 70s-ish kind of haircut he had.

Sorry, but I have to admit that although I haven't seen this movie, I am boycotting it. I am not happy with the previews I have seen of it. There are a lot of people out there who agree with me.
Here is an example of what some critics have to say about it:
Then again, 'The Princess Diaries' doesn't send that great of a message to kids. Mia is told that in order to fit in among her royal family, she must straighten her naturally curly hair, tweeze her eyebrows and give up her glasses for contacts even though they hurt her eyes.
If a filmmaker wanted to make a modern fairy tale, wouldn't it better to create a fairy-tale world where people aren't judged by some archaic standard of beauty? "

All in all, I am sure that a lot of young girls who have features that are Disney's portrayal of "ugly" in this movie WILL take offense from this movie (those who wear glasses, have curly hair, etc.) Not my idea of a cute movie.

I took no offence to the movie and I have curly hair AND glasses. I was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile! Does anyone other than me have the soundtrack or both the books? And does anyone other than me like the song "Stupid Cupid" by Mandy Moore?

Joyce DeWitt, that's interesting that you said that. Well it's a good thing too. Actually, I couldn't help being a bit closed-minded because there's a mob of people out there who either wear glasses, have curly hair or whatever, who've been griping about this movie. I myself have not seen the movie yet. Of course, not everyone feels this way. I've never taken offense about anything Disney has ever created, in fact I'm a big Disney fan.
But then again, you're not the only one- there are people like you who do have curly hair and/or glasses, who don't take offense.
