Laverne & Shirley, definitely! I don't know why subsequent seasons have not yet been released. Were sales really that bad? The second seasons is where the show got really funny and Penny and Cindy really defined their characters. We didn't get some of the best episodes on dvd like the spy episode or the Moosejaw Express mystery. ohno:

I don't think this show has been abandoned. The second season will probably be out in December.

THF has a WB chat every year and someone asked about this show... Their reply was "No new sets are planned at this moment, season 1 didn't sell very well."

Night Court has to be number one, the first season did not have the cast that made the show popular, they didnt come along till later on.

Boy Meets World, Who's the Boss?, and Murphy Brown.

Of course, some of my favorite shows are the ones to sell poorly. At the Wb chat, many people asked about a Murphy Brown season 2, and they also stated that it sold very poorly, especially compared to Full house and FResh Prince season 1, which came out on the same day as Murphy Brown. Murphy Brown is also being compared to Wb's top seller(Friends), and is stated that it sold 6% or less of its copies compared to Froends.

Who's the Boss? is a sony show, so it is almost expected that it's not going to continue to get released. I mean, they are comparing its sales to their top seller(Seinfeld) which of course is not fair, because they are too different shows. In a magazine article, it said that Who's the Boss sold 1.5% of the units of Seinfeld.

AS For Boy Meets World, at least we have three seasons compared to one. I mean with Three already released, why not just release the last 4, even if we dont get any special features. I mean, as long as we have the episodes. It said that season 2 was off from season 1 by just 12%, so a third season was released(but since it was down from season 1, the third season was delayed for that reason) but was down 39% from season 2(which is very poor sales, being down in sales 61% from season 1.

It does suck, it really does. I guess all these shows have been scrapped, but not permanently. I have a feeling that Boy Meets World season 4 will be released sometime. I mean the Disney site is still listing under a TBA category(to be announced), so I still have hope for that one. I have very little bhope for Murphy Brown and Who's the Boss?. if Wb would release it, they would have to release 9 more seasons, and that is not going to happen with sales poor from season 1.

If you want to read more about it, go to this link at TSoD for further explanation:

Hello, this is my first post here. I would like to have "Knots Landing" Season 2 released to DVD by Warner Brothers. I am a huge Knots Landing fan. I hope it's soon! Even better would be all seasons released at once.

Happy :)

Series should NEVER be abandoned. Once Season 1 is released, the rest of the series needs to as well. Otherwise that is just plain dumb.

That said, I'm still waiting for Seasons 9 & 10 of Frasier.

Same here - and Cheers. I wonder what's taking Paramount so long? In 2005, they had a stretch of releasing Frasier and Cheers one after the other but then they dried up all of a sudden. We had one more release in June and not a word has been said since. I am starting to get a little worried.

As for All In The Family, I hope it doesn't get abandoned. They've announced Season 6 for a February release, so they are still going with it so far. But, with Sony you just never know. There's only 3 seasons left after Season 6 but if they continue at their current pace, Season 9 won't come out until 2010! At least Sony is treating Seinfeld and King of Queens properly.

Which is fine, because hopefully when they're done with those shows they can turn their attention to some others they've been neglecting.

Well there are pretty strong rumors that Frasier Season 9 will be coming out on May 15,2007. Hopefully we'll see more "Cheers" come out soon.

I didn't even mention shows like "The Beverly Hillbillies" or "Petticoat Junction" only because they technically haven't been abandoned by the studio that owns their rights, even though we got sets of both shows via their creator, Paul Henning.

I'm with you on more Kate & Allie. Although, Season 1 through 3 have already been released in Canada. You can get them at amazon.ca. The only way Universal could get me to buy Season 2 again is for them to swear it contains all UNCUT episodes. Some episodes on the set I have from VEI are syndicated.

I would also love to see more Gimme a Break! in the U.S. This seems to be one Universal abandoned way too easily.

One of my Top 15 shows "Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" is back on track at long last in June. So now my top 15 of currently limbo/abandoned titles on DVD reads as follows:

1-Dragnet (I *really* want Season 2)
2-Adam 12
3-Barney Miller (the biggest disgrace in Sony history)
4-Rat Patrol
5-McMillan And Wife
6-Fantasy Island
7-My Favorite Martian (I keep hearing rumors but I want this show finished!)
8-Kojak
9-Quincy M.E.
10-McCloud (though I would rather see Season 1 done right)
11-Night Gallery
12-Taxi
13-Night Court
The last two slots I have to give to the Bob Newhart and Mary Tyler Moore Shows since the news is not encouraging right now for future releases.
