I can speak a tiny bit of Spanish, a tiny bit of Latin, and a few words in French. And I know some sign language. But that's about it. Next year I'm going to start Spanish, though.

"I do like the show.... It's fun to do. I like the character of Charity because she's so hopeful. She's never bitter. There's plenty of things that happen to her that could make her bitter. But she always thinks tomorrow's going to be beautiful. And someday it will be."
- Gwen Verdon

"The advertisements for the show say 'Gwen Verdon as Sweet Charity.' Note that as 'as.' Not 'starring in' or just plain 'in' or even 'in the new musical,' but 'as.' She is that girl. She is Sweet Charity and forever will be."

Sort of... I can count from one to ten in Japanse, Korean, Chinese, & Filippine. I'm gonna have to take Spanish next year, but I'd rather take French or something. But I don't have a choice.

Well, this year'll mark my ninth year of French, so I can speak that pretty well. Really cool language once you get the hang of it... <sighs> which takes a while!

Clairee: She can't be more than eighteen. She hasn't had time to have a past.
Truvy: Oh get with it, Clairee. This is the eighties. If you can achieve puberty, you can achieve a past.

Ich sprechen deutsch which is I speak German. I took 2 years of german when I was in high school and the really cool thing was I took it over satillite which was alot of fun and also my German teacher was originally from Germany and that was neat because she would bring alot of the German culture that she grew up with in to the calss like dances, music, movies, we would have German parties and eat german food and play german games it was alot of fun.

Well, I speak some Spanish. I'm not exactly fluent in it yet but I'm gettin there. Out of me and my two siblings, I know the most Spanish. My parents speak Spanish so it kinda rubbed off on me. I know a whole lot of Spanish, I'm just not really sure how to use it.

Fluent...you meant to say, fluent. If the post weren't about multiple languages I would have left it alone. The irony was more than I could resist!

I've taken German for 7 years now, and am going to double-major in it. (that's complete with all of next year in Germany... yikes!)

Anyway, I've also taken a year of French, some Italian and some Russian. Russian was the most fun by far!

I "speak" ASL, American Sign Language. But I can't show ya with text on a computer screen. If anyone wants to visit me, I'll be more than happy to "talk at ya" with my hands.

And I took some Spanish in high school, but forgot a lot of it. I still remember a lot of ASL though, since I minored in it, several deaf people went to my college, I got to use it sometimes with deaf "guests" when I worked at The Disney Store, and there's 1 man where I work now who's deaf.

Always good to keep in practice. :)

I speak Marathi, it's an Indian (not Native American) language. I'm also in my first year of French. So I'm sort of trilingual but I'm not fluent in French yet.

HablÉ is the past tense of I speak (so it's I spoke)
Habla is the singular present tense which means he/she/you (formal singular) speaks

I lived in Japan for 7 years, and was able to pickup some of it.

I also lived in the Philippines and speak a little Tagalog.

In High School I studied French, but that was so long ago that I forgot most of it.

I want to learn Hebrew, I know certain words in Hebrew already, but I want to read and write the language.

I know quite a bit of Spanish. I've learned so many words that I can actually form sentences with them now. Yippee! I also taught myself all the words I know in Spanish out of dictionarys, spanish songs that had a translation in English, and also babelfish translater from the altavista site. Even though I live in Canada, I don't know much French. All I can say in French is hello, good-bye, what is it?, cat, dog, all the colors and numbers one to one hundred. Actually I think it's ironic that I know more Spanish than French, since teachers always teach French in Canada in elementary schools and high schools. Although, it's optional in high school, so the last French class I took was in Grade 8. I also just find Spanish just much easier to speak than French. But, there is one sentence I can say in French, besides what is it?

Je Parle No Francais.

Translation: I Speak No French.

The Spanish words I know are:

Hola-Hello
Adios-Goodbye
Corazon-Heart
Amor-Love
Llamada-Call
Gato-Cat
Vida-Life
Loca-Crazy
Mi-My
Tu-You
Yo-Me
Los-The
I know a bit more, but those are some of the words that I know in Spanish.
