View Full Version : How come my IP address is different if I'm at the same computer?

I used to be "Jo Fan 4 Life" but now I switched my name, but I noticed the IP addresses are different. I was just curious if anyone knows why. Does it hafta do with being logged in under a different e-mail account (I'm on Compuserve).

You're ISP is using DHCP. DHCP will assign you an address everytime you log on. If you purchase a static address from your ISP, then you will have the same IP all the time.
