View Full Version : Film Exec Rips Lindsay Lohan A New One
July 29, 2006 -- A Hollywood big shot has called out hard-partying actress Lindsay Lohan - ripping the star of his movie for blowing off work and behaving like "a spoiled child."
Morgan Creek Productions CEO James Robinson, head of the production company making Lohan's movie "Georgia Rule," penned a jaw-dropping legal letter that described the behavior of the 20-year-old actress - who makes up to $8 million a film - as "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional."
"You have acted like a spoiled child and in so doing have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality of this picture," Robinson wrote in the July 26 letter obtained by The Smoking Gun Web site. www.thesmokinggun.com"We will not tolerate these actions any further."
"Georgia Rule" also stars Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman and is being filmed in Santa Paula, Calif., about 70 miles northwest of L.A.
The letter - which threatens to sue the star - was e-mailed and hand delivered to Lohan at the famed Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, where she regularly stays.
Photographers spotted Lohan dancing the night away early Wednesday morning - just hours before Robinson penned his blistering letter - at Guy's nightclub in West Hollywood.
Witnesses said Lohan, with pal and reality-TV star Nicole Richie, was drinking and belting out tunes on the club's karaoke machine.
Hours after photographers captured Lohan partying, she was taken from the "Georgia Rule" set to the hospital and treated for "heat exhaustion" and "dehydration."
In his letter, the exec complained Lohan regularly misses her calls on set.
"We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion,' " Robinson fumed. "We refused to accept bogus excuses for your behavior."
Robinson warned Lohan that she will be held "personally accountable" for "hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage." He also said the company will not hesitate to take legal action against Lohan.
Robinson concluded: "I urge you to take this letter seriously and conduct yourself professionally."
Robinson, other Morgan Creek executives and Lohan's representatives could not be reached for comment yesterday afternoon.
This is the time in every episode of "E True Hollywood Story" when the announcer says "and just when Lindsay was flying high, her world was about to come crashing down..."

It's a shame because she could be a great actress if she really wanted to and take it seriously. There are hundreds of girls out there who would love to have their break and wouldn't just waste it away.

My God. FINALLY. I do like some of her movies, but damn she annoys the crap out of me. I kinda hope she gets fired from that movie, actually. She sounds like a bad sport.

If they had any guts, they would boot her from the movie.
I'll bet the her co-stars Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman (who won a freakin ACADEMY AWARD this year) show up on time and ready to work.
As LucyCompanyPhan pointed out, there are lots of other young actresses out there who would gladly take her place.
I wish Hollywood's fascination with Miss lohan would just end. When it comes right down to it, she's not that good.

I'm sick of her crap. I enjoy watching "Mean Girls" and think she would get a clue that clubbing your way through life and acting like a spoiled rotten brat is no way to do things, but she's just this stupid uber-sosh.

Sorry to be a nitpicker, but actually Felicity was nominated and didn't win. However, I do agree. I'm sure Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman are not happy working with her. They seem like real professionals who take their work seriously. I think Lohan is a good actress, but she needs to take things more seriously.

I see her mom has now defended her, by saying that she has asthma, and it's hard to breathe in 105 degree weather. Okay, I don't have asthma, so I don't know how hard it is to breathe, but I gotta think it would have been easier had she, you know, went to bed and skipped the booze.
Her mom is enabling her. ohno:

Lohan gets mom's help
Lohan's mother, Dina (right), defended her daughter, saying "Lindsay was in 105 (degree weather) saying, 'Mommy, I feel sick; like I am going to faint.' She took herself to the hospital. She has asthma and in extreme cold or heat you can't breathe."
Dina Lohan is coming to daughter Lindsay's defense.
When a studio executive called Lindsay "irresponsible and unprofessional" after she did not show up for work on the set of her movie Georgia Rule, her mother took issue with that. "I'm a mother and will do what I need to do to protect my child. ... They worked the schedule around her. Everybody loves her," Dina tells TV's Access Hollywood in an interview airing today.
The drama began early last week. Lindsay's publicist said the actress, 20, was taken to a hospital in L.A. because she was overheated and dehydrated. After she didn't show up on set Wednesday, Morgan Creek Productions CEO James G. Robinson said in a letter dated that day to Lindsay: "We are well aware that your ongoing all night heavy partying is the real reason for your so called 'exhaustion.' "
Dina tells Access: "She wasn't out all night."
Lindsay returned to work Thursday. Robinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he wrote the letter, which became public after it was posted on The Smoking Gun website Friday, because he "needed to remind her of her obligations."

You know she could control the asthma by not chain smoking anymore, but last I heard, her mother was "concerned" about her smoking.
Seems like her mom is just in it for the ride. Studios need to make money and if someone is making them lose money, they need to fix it. She's not the young innocent girl her mom claims her to be.

Actress Lindsay Lohan poses with her mother Dina, right, and her sister Aliana after they arrived to the premiere of her new film "Just My Luck'" in this file photo from May 9, 2006, in Los Angeles. A studio executive was "way out of line" for scolding Lindsay Lohan for her absences from the set of her new movie, Lohan's mother Dina tells "Access Hollywood" in an interview set to air Monday.

In any other business, if you were MIA and didn't give a good reason, you were out of there. If you were sick simply because you were hungover, etc., your employer would have a good reason for wondering if they should keep you on, especially if that was your reputation. Lohan has got to remember films are what put her on the map, and her reputation isn't getting her anywhere. Who gives a crap what her dingbat mom says, the silly enabler!!

What I don't understand is why the hell she's being allowed to drink alcohol at nightclubs, when she's only 20 years old?? I think that club, and any other that serves her alcohol should be fined big time.

Actually Huffman lost the academy award to Reese Witherspoon, but she did win an emmy.
I have to agree with everyone else saying that Lohan is annoying. She's clearly hanging out with the party-goers and the most annoying group of fake celebrities. I think Lohan has done some good stuff and has some really great movies coming up, but she's asking for a backlash. She's just making herself look terrible. Lindsay is starring in a movie with Jane Fonda & Felcity Huffman - this isn't some dumb disney movie. She has the chance to do great things with herself with the best working actors and like I said, waste.

Well, no offense to Lohan's family but wasn't it a year ago they were haven't their own public problems. Why is it so hard for celebrities to lay low. They beg for this kind of attention if you ask me.
Now, I don't have asthma but I do have a heart condition and having preseason practice in 100 degree weather running around -I've never fainted and nor had the other kids with asthma or not. I'm not comparing the situation, but just saying, it can easily be prevented.
I'd also like to say that I've been on the inside of clubs and it gets FAR hotter dancing than it would be sitting around a movie set.

Does anyone have anything nice to say about this girl in the industry? If so, I've never heard it uttered. Which leads me to ask: Why are people still giving this girl work?

The club owners don't care as long as they get plenty of press. Nobody is going to turn away some hot young actress or celebutant if they want to party in your club.

Lindsay Lohan has actually become a joke. Nobody takes her seriously. Apparently, her mom says in that Access Hollywood interview that "she'll win an academy award for Georgia Rule", but she's just kissing Lindsays ass along with everybody else.
Back when Mean Girls came out, Lindsay had a promising career and a bright future...now look at her. She pretty much sabotaged her career all by herself.

True. Look at Corey Feldman and Drew Barrymore, they were known to enter clubs and drink as young as 12!!! Drew stated by the time she was 12 she was a full-fledged alcoholic.

Let's face it, being a star in lighter movie fare like "Mean Girls" and "Herbie Fully Loaded" is one thing, but co-starring with seasoned acting pros in movies like "Prarie Home Companion" and this new movie with Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman (a recent Academy Award nominee, not a winner) is another thing entirely. Does she want to be a serious actress, or does she want to hang with Nicole Richie for the rest of her life?

I could be mistaken but I never read that she was actually consuming alcohol in these clubs. I'm not saying she did or did not. Considering she's hanging out with people legally able to drink, I'm sure it's not hard for them to get a private room in the club and get everything they ever wanted sent...Just saying, its possible that she isn't drinking in these clubs - she could be just "exhausted" from the night itself. It's also possbile of drug use.
I don't know what she actually did but it obviously isn't good for her health, image or career.

This has nothing to do with Lindsay Lohan, but I read an article about how Dakota Fanning's mom said that her daughter has a good chance of winning an oscar in her upcoming movie Hound dog (I think it's called). In the film Dakota Fanning filmed several constroversal scenes involving the 12 year old's nudity, appeance in underwear and a very brutal rape scene. Fanning's mother was just explaining why she let her daughter do such a role and why she thinks she can handle it. Just thought I'd point this out, not that I think fanning's mother is kissing her daughter's ass - it just reminded me of it.
I personally think everyone around Lohan is completely messed up and it's almost career sucide to be linked with her.
