What was the name of the woman who claimed to be sweating Gold from her pores? Any updates?
Also, have we learned anything new about Oscar (?) the chimp that walked erect, smoked etc etc and had DNA that matched neither man or beast?
He was a sensation in the 70's, but spent the 80's in a cramped cage before being freed by the Primarily Primates animal group

I'm pretty sure his name was Oliver. Other than that, I have no idea what became of him.

Well an update in my opinion would be that she's insane. You know I've only seen this story once or twice but I don't think she ever gave her name in the segment. A fact quite telling in itself. I also seem to remember her son being interviewed in silhouette, also not wanting his identity known. Since we don't have a name for her it will be tough trying to find out anything recent concerning the story.

makes you wonder why UM would even waste their time filming such hocus-pocus garbage not worth filling a hefty bag.

She went by "Katie". According to the segment, she could do various types of calligraphy and (I think) write in foreign languages, although she claimed illiteracy. Give me a friggin' break!

I don't remember Oliver being referred to as a "Boy Bigfoot" missing link maybe but not necessarily a bigfoot:confused:

I have 3 words for the gold sweating woman.
PHONEY PHONEY PHONEY
Besides if she were real then she would never get any rest, because every gold seeking prospector in this country would be trying to get their hands on her.

I have the Oliver segment on tape and I am 99% sure Stacks says "bigfoot" in relation to Oliver's background...along w/ a man/ape love connection and other theories

UPDATE!!!
A bigfoot expert was on Coast to Coast am on Tuesday the 17th and stated Oliver had a normal number of chromosomes (the dna was fibbed by his handlers) and his upright walking was due to having bamboo strapped to his back to force him to learn to walk upright as a baby.

oh yeah and his weird jaw was due to his handlers pulling out his teeth which reshaped his jawline (a pain I know all too personally)

Did you notice when they showed it today, his original handler who got him as a baby said that one day Oliver came into his office, grabbed ahold of his pant leg, then just stood upright. At that sight, he "just about fainted".
So if Oliver was strapped into a device to make him walk upright, as a baby, it would have been at the hands of this man, right?

Regarding the woman sweating gold, I think she was relying on the fact that back then, most people wouldn't recogonize what the gold leaf was.
The first time I ever saw gold leaf in a craft store, I realized that was the material she was using in her scam. Now that we have all these cable tv decorator shows, they show people using gold leaf in projects lots of times.

I am by no means a primatologist but i assume that walking upright is extremely painful if not outright dangerous for a chimpanzee to do.
Was Oliver's vertebral column different from other apes?
I would be interested if Oliver has to be coaxed to walk upright, or if he does so on his own.
If i remember in that segment they were attempting to mate Oliver.
I would be very interested in seeing if Olivers offspring also walk upright
For the record i am of the opinion that Oliver was trained to walk upright and was altered in facial appearance for circus performance purposes.
