I went to the American Ballet Theatre's performance of Romeo and Juliet - with Paloma Herrera, my favorite ballerina, in the role of Juliet - at Lincoln Center today. Afterwards, I went to the stage door - in a basement in a small parking garage - where many people were waiting to get autographs from dancers. Miss Herrera was one of the last people out. She looked as gorgeous in person as she does in pictures, and as lovely onstage as off. Her arms were filled with bouquets, yet she manage to take my pen and sign my progam. I'm on cloud nine right now.
I was weak in the knees when I met her. Wouldn't you be if you encountered a goddess like this?

P.S. While I and several others were waiting for her, one fellow pronounced her first name (which is the Spanish word for "dove") "PAL-oma," and prounced the silent "H" at the beginning of her surname. HEATHEN!!!

Is she by any chance related to KRISTIN HERRERA? :)
One day I'm gonna get an autograph of her.

Is Kristin Herrera from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where Paloma Herrera is from? :) If not, I doubt it.

BTW, I also saw Julie Kent, who's as big a ballet star as Miss Herrera, which surprised everyone because she hadn't performed that afternoon. Turns out she's married to another ABT company member, who did perform that afternoon. She had their son with her.
While there were lots of little girls hanging around the stage door, Julie Kent's son was the only little boy there.
