You might not know this, but while the pilot was in production, CBS wanted that to be the series. Sherwood Schwartz said if the show got bad in the ratings he would switch it like that for the show. Same concept as the Castaways on GI

What's stupid about it? I am a big Gunsmoke fan as well. Westerns did great in the 50's and 60's. At one poing there was 19 airing at the same time. Gunsmoke ran for 20 seasons and was in the top 10 16 of those years. Bonanza ran 14 seasons and was number one all three seasons GI was on. Times change, but at the time Westersns were rating winners. Walker Texas Ranger goes to show Westerns can still be popular and good in the ratings.

He was normal in season 1. The more the audience clapped for Fonzie the stupider Potise became. Potsie also gained some weight as the series went on. When Richie left I thought it was funny to see him hanging around the Cunninghams house still. I don't even know why they put Potsie in the opening to season 11 eating that hamburger because he is only in like that first 5 of the season. He isn't even in the Joannie and Chachi's wedding
