It was only for 5 min and still George and Archie was WILD together. George Returned because he sold his old house but before he even walked in the door Archie is starting t say crazy things like-
"George Jefferson is the only black person I know that would call Abraham Lincoln a honkey"
lol
Then George comes in and then the insults start right away. But this time it was more of a friendly put down rather than a HATEFUL intertaction. Archie says to George-
"Yeah I had a fire at my house last year but don't worry your people had nothing to do with it" Then George says-"I wish I had known I would have came over and barbecued some ribs"
Then Archie wanted some cake and Edith said -"It's no left and George says-"Bunker you don't need any cake you're a fat man" And right before George leaves Bunker says-"you know I have my own business now and George response-"Congratulations, it's good to see a white man doing well for himself"
LOL-Archie and George, best Interaction in the History of Sitcoms

The best Archie and George and interaction to me is episode, "Lionel's Party"
I forgot what Archie said, but George sarcastically told him he didn't see any servants in that "mansion" he lived in. LOL Then George snapped at Mother Jefferson, Archie told him to lighten up on his "Mammie" and that set the fire off. The real scene was when both Archie and George both met the Willises, and their reactions. The Willises appeared to be arguing, and then George susupected that Tom would call Helen a n*igger. Archie then said he haven't used that word in 3 years. then he said, he bet Helen would call Tom a honkey. But it was a classic episode. But I liked when Archie and George ended up toasting one another in the end. They both agreed interracial marriage would not work. LOL

They were nowhere near to having any kind of friendship.

If you watched that ep, it was a friendly exchange between George and Archie. When Archie answered the door he was happy to see George Visit.

I've seen AITF over 100 times, George and Archie never really liked each other. By that time Archie had mellowed out a lot, he wasn't as racist as he was in the earlier seasons. George and Archie were nice to each other, but they were never friends. They were even nice to each other when they lived next door to each other. Archie and Henry (George brother) didn't get along with each at all.

I will never understand why George was nicer to Archie than he was to Tom Willis.

I will never understand why George was nicer to Archie than he was to Tom Willis.
That's because Archie didn't Marry into his family, plus Tom was too touchy feely and that's what George didn't like.
