Has anyone been there? I love it. I have went every year since i was born. I have been on all the 14 roller coasters.
Gemini is my favorite. Did any one see the documentary on it tonight? I love Cedar Point!

I went to Cedar Point in June. My good friend from college had a couple free tickets and she asked me up. It was awesome and extremely hot. The water rides were good, especially with the temperature. I sort of freak out on roller coasters and distinctly remember yelling, "Amanda I hate you" on the Magnum. She forgot to tell me a few things about it. I did put my foot down on the Millenium Force. No way!!!! The only downside of the day was the pouring down rain at the end where we made the mad dash for the car!! I can't remember if we rode the Gemini or not. Maybe a little description would help clear it up!
P.S. I never buy the pictures they take of you on the roller coaster, but the one of us on the Raptor was too funny not to pass up!
When you say that you've been there every year since you were born you sound like my friend. Her parents started bringing her when she was 2 months old. There's something about people from Ohio and their Cedar Point.....

I've been to Cedar Point. It's a great park. I saw part of the Discovery Channel special on it. I love the Gemini also, and the Raptor. I havent been there since they added the new coaster though.

The Gemini is a racing wodden roller coaster. There are two trains that race next to each other.

Oooo, I went there this June! It was awesome! The whole time while I was waitin' in line for the Raptor I kept mumbling "I'm gonna die, no, Nicki, you're gonna die! You brought me up here!" over and over.. hehe.

Hey, I've never been to Cedar Point and I've lived in Ohio all my life! I did watch the documentary on it though. It looks cool but I'm not the biggest roller coaster fan so I'll stick to Kings Island.

Ok seriously, King's Island is great, but you can't pass up Cedar Point if you ever have the chance to go.
I love roller coasters, so of course I love it for that, but there is soooooo much more to love about Cedar Point.
1.) Being on a peninsula jutting out into lake Erie affords both amazing views and also cool refreshing breezes.
2.) Being on a peninsula and thus space being a major commodity, it's interesting to see how they build things there. They tend to build up and through, as opposed to King's Island, which just spreads like a virus further and further out onto their acres and acres of land.
3.) No one owns Cedar Point, no one as in a major corporation, like Paramount or Six Flags. Hence, it is not commercialized at all.
4.) Something about Cedar Point seems very old fashioned to me. In spite of all the monster coasters, parts of it seem very turn of the century-ish (1899-1900) to me.
5.) Cedar Point has the most rides of any amusement park, not just counting coasters. They have a ton of those fun little dinky rides too, and a great ferris wheel. And their train is a real coal burning steam engine.
I think that Kings Island is better for wood coasters (Beast, Son of Beast, Racer), but no one can beat Cedar Point for steel coasters.
Of course, these are all just my opinions.
But can you tell I'm a rabid CP supporter?? http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/wink.gif

Bootsy Woosh, I'm sure Cedar Point is really great. But I don't want to pay to get into a place that's definitely gonna be crowded... Since I live close to KI I just buy a season pass and after two visits it's paid for anyway. I don't doubt CP has better steel coasters... KI's only good one is Vortex. Well, Outer Limits is cool too, but they went and changed the dang bars so that they don't go over your head anymore and that creeps me out. Anyway, I don't completely love roller coasters and I hate ferris wheels soooooo much. And I don't thik any ride in Cedar Point will ever compare to the Beast. I will never get sick of that one http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

I think Outer Limits is sooo much better without the harnesses. I used to not really like that ride so much but now I love it! Too bad it creeps you out....but I could see how it might if you're not a big fan of coasters.
I also loved Face/Off, but I don't recommend it for people who aren't fond of coasters, because that even scared me a little bit, and I'm usually fearless http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Well. We got this teeny tiny park in Louisville. I think it's called, uh, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom...Anyway, Chang and T2 are great.
One note: IF YOU EVER ride T2, make sure to put your head all the way back in the harness or you're libel to get your head snapped off. No jokin.
