Another great Baltimore movie! (I'm from Baltimore, in case ya couldn't tell, so I love any kind of movie where I know half the sites.) This is definitely in my top 10 of great movies, probably number 8 or so. I also once saw the director and asked him if I was good for movies; he told me maybe not now but maybe in the future! You might see me one day in a movie... OK, I'm rambling on here! Anyway, great movie!

Is it true that "Divine" the man/woman who played the mom and the principal? died?
That's to bad!I thought Mrs. Turnblad was funny!

And about those Baltimore movies...Does Joh Waters do all his movies there?
Hairspray was there
Polyester was there
Serial Mom was there
Cry-Baby was probably there.
And the weird thing is most of them starred "Ricki Lake"!

Yes, this is true. In fact, Divine passed away I think the same week that this movie opened http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif But Divine did do other John Waters movies. Most of them aren't as tame as Hairspray, but they are fun to watch. If you are under 18, ask your parent's permission first, because I think that a couple of them are rated NC-17.
