Hmmm.... I can't explain the PM situation, but it might be a SO error. But, if a post from a thread shows up in the body of your email notification and not when you get into SO, then it means the original poster of that particular post deleted his or her post. I've come across that same thing before in threads as well.

Is anyone else having problems logging in and out? I received an e-mail notification that i have a pm, but when I came to SO to read it, the pm isn't showing up. Also it's show that the last post made on CC was at 6:47pm. That was five hours ago. Am I the only one experiencing computer problems?
I ran Ad-Aware SE Personal and there are no cookies and there is no spyware. The performed scan came up with 0 critical objects. I ran a virus scan and there are no viruses. I don't know what could be wrong. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Everything is fine here(except for this RootKiller thing that shuts down the computer on a very few certain sites, not this one). Is the time settings in your profile right? Should be GMT -5 for you.

How do you set it up so that pm's show up in an e-mail notification? When I get an e-mail notification the pm itself isn't in the e-mail notification. It just mentions to go to SO because there is a pm waiting to be read. I'm not very computer savvy so I don't know how to do things like that. It would be great to set it up where the pm shows up in the e-mail notification. :) I also didn't know that posts can show up in an e-mail notification.
The body message of a PM will actually not show up in your email. Only the body messages of posts show up in your email. So, posts don't show up in your email? That's interesting. Mine does. Only text and URLS show up. Emoticons don't show up except for the text of them. Hmmmm.... you might wanna PM TJ or Janice and ask them about that. Or, maybe there's a setting for that in your profile.

Jenny, as Mona pointed out, you don't actually get the PM itself through the email you just get a notification informing you that you have a PM waiting for you. I think I might have contributed to your confusion because I've always said that I get my PM's through my email. What I actually meant was that I am notified through my emails that I have a PM waiting for me to read. I'm sorry, I should have been more clear about it. I am happy to see you have a new avatar.:)
