Hi!! I just purchased all of The Lost Episodes Boxed Sets from Overstock.Com and two of the cases have a different packaging design than the others. Volume one and four have a thick case that opens up in sections while the others open only once. I was just wondering if there were two different versions released. Thanks!! P.S. They are fantastic!!!!

Not aware of a different release, but if MPI thought they could get people to re-buy the same set they had already by changing the packaging, they would probably give it a shot. Maybe they'd call it the special MPI releases (MPI for "More Packaging Included")

I think it would be nice if MPI re-released the Lost Episodes by season sets, with bonus material, other Gleason skits, etc. If I was MPI, I would stick with one project at a time. The b&w lost shows are out there already, I would stick with the color releases right now and then later go back to the originals. Just my opinion.

I think the fact that the B&W episodes are, indeed, "already out there" may mean it will be a while before we see a re-mastered re-issue. Of course, the Twilight Zone was issued in various collections before the "definitive" editions came along, so I could be wrong.

According to a source at MPI, they plan to have the first release of the remastered Lost Episodes set out by the end of 2006. They've been going through the "long and painstaking process," as they described it, since 2004. And after sending them a list of the 27 episodes missing from the current collection, they've assured me that this re-release will be as complete as possible with the material that is available to them.

Chris from the old board was in touch with a guy named Andy Kemp at MPI. He was fed a healthy dose of material we know exists, but that MPI has failed to release for whatever reason. Let's hope that these goodies will show up in some form in the future.

Yes, Andy was one of the people I spoke to about this. Chris & I have sent them almost identical lists, I think his may have been missing a couple though. I think Chris was even made aware of what episodes MPI is planning to release, "Love Letter" and "Halloween Party," if I'm not mistaken, were at the top of this list. And, like you mentioned, it's a fact that the majority of the 27 missing episodes DO exist, 15 of which are easily available to all of us. I'm just hoping that with all the time their putting into it and all the positive talk, it isn't another let down.
