I had a bad thunderstorm last night at about 7:30PM eastern. The lightning hit the transformer and the power was out from 7:30 to like 12midnight. I couldnt get on the computer couldnt watch tv we had to light these candles. It was awful! The storm really wasnt that bad. But when the lightning hit the transformer thing i saw the sparks from it.
Anyone else have a storm? I live in Kentucky btw.

Teddy: You all set for tomorrow night?
Jinny: I have my bullet proof vest polished if that's what you mean.
Teddy: Come on, Jinny.
Jinny: Oh, yes. Actually... I bought a dress.
Teddy: You did?
Jinny: There is no guarantee, however, that I am going to wear it.
Teddy: So, uh... I don't know. What else did you buy?
Jinny: How do you know I bought you anything for your birthday? Maybe I plan on knitting you a sweater or... give you something much more organic.
Teddy: Well, you do give good organic.
Teddy: What's this dress look like anyway?
Jinny: Oh, yeah, OK. Low cut, skin tight, animal print, ruffle at the bottom. Don't you have lawyering to do?
Teddy: Be honest with me, not my parents!
Jinny: All right, fine. You want honesty? Why don't you let me tell you a little bit about my family? See, I never really had a birthday party unless you wanna count my 15th, when my father showed up for cake, plastered in his underwear! Oh... yeah, by the way, my mom couldn't make it that year either because, well, sadly, six months earlier she blew her brains out!!!!!
Teddy: Jinny, my God.
Jinny: As for my brother, ugh... yeah, John... see, he just doesn't like you unless your American, white, and straight... and for me, a few weeks ago when I had that nut case after me... yeah, I had to make a little list, of all the guys that I've slept with in the last two years. I couldn't remember some of their names.
Teddy: Stop.
Jinny: Ya know what? This is who I am, this is my family!!!! Come on, it's your turn. Go ahead, flash that all-American, prep school, choir boy smile and you tell me that it doesn't matter!...It doesnt change anything...Yea thats what I thought.

Can you believe it was actually raining here in Northern California yesturday? It's June, for crying out loud. It's absurd, since we NEVER EVER have real weather in California.
I kind of enjoy it when the power goes out. I mean it is a pain but there’s also something fun about it, especially if it’s night. I guess it reminds me of when I was a kid and the power would go out. It was so much fun getting out the candles and flashlights, and playing board games by candlelight with my sister. Last time the power went out, my roommate and I lit all the candles in our place and used it as an excuse not to study. But one thing I don’t like is lightning hitting so close (close enough to see sparks is too close for me). I’ll never forget when lightning hit my neighbor’s tree and it caught on fire. That was a little scary. Everyone’s TVs and garage door openers got blown out.

Last time we had a storm like that here was April of 1998. Tornadoes in just about every county within a 100 mile radius of us (including us). Power was out a long time, cause our RECC covers most of them same counties. The radio station was off the air for almost 2 months, then was only available within something like 3 miles for another 6 months while the tower was rebuilt. Several deaths, and damage everywhere. And in Shipley, our county's personal tornado alley, that was their third tornado in a year's time. (the other two both occuring back that January)

Well, the weather here was absolutely evil last night. Not a lot of rain but the WORST thunder and lightening we've had here in years!
I was watching movies in the living room with the lights off at about 1am and it was real bad - the whole house kept lighting up every time there was a flash of lightening - it was as bright as daylight!!!
The power didn't go off but something happened to my satalite dish cos it cut out at one point when there was a real big bang! That freaked me out so I turned the TV and everything off and just went to bed. I have a friend whose house got fried cos lightening hit her satalite dish - I don't like the idea of that happeneing to me!
Lynn - you LIKE it when the power goes out????? I don't understand that - I HATE it when that happens. I can't watch TV, I can't even read cos it's too dark to see. It means I have to sit in the living room with my parents and actually talk to them!
It might not sound that bad to you but you've never tried to have a conversation with my parents - they are the 2 most boring people on earth!

LOL. Being forced to converse with your parents definately takes the fun out of it. I guess I've always had fun whenever the power has gone out. It hasn't happened to me that often (and I wouldn't want it to).

Really???? It hasn't rained here for months. At least since March or April, and it's been like mid 80's to low 90's for the past 2 weeks.
