View Full Version : Shouldn't Edith wait to say "I do" after the minister finished asking the question?

I've watched an episode in which Archie and Edith Bunker renew their wedding vows shortly before Mike and Gloria were leaving for California, and I didn't like when Edith interrupted the minister's question, "Do you Edith Baines take Archie Bunker as your lawfully wedded husband..." Even though Archie and Edith loved each other, it was not a polite thing for Edith to suddenly interrupt the minister like that. If I were Archie, I would tell Edith to say "I do" after the minister finished asking that particular question by naturally telling her to "stifle yourself, dingbat." (Typical Archie Bunker catchphrase) I also would have said, "Edith, I love you very much, but you should wait until Reverend (I can't remember his name) finishes asking you if you want to remarry me."

What do you think?
